When did it become "cool" to be a homo?

You're confused. Freedom to be oneself regardless of orientation is what's cool. You just don't like it.

No, no, no, you don't get it. You can be as free as you want, as long as you're white, male, Christian, tot guns, have a small penis, and straight in 'Merica

Holy shit FINALLY. I guess now I can come out of the closet without fear of getting lynched and discriminated against in other, less deadly, but still fucking annoying and life altering ways.

You'll forgive me if, living as I do in the middle of the bible belt, I don't take your word for it and check some other sources.

Faggots blame their appetites for all their many shortcomings.

How waffen you piece of shit troll! I'm still waiting for that racist article you claimed you had secret access to. Looks like you're a bit of bitch on this. Such a shame.

Translation: Faggots think their shit stinks because of homophobia. Faggots think bad breath and BO are caused by homophobia.

huh.

Ok, then I can give an informed disagreement.

Faggots are a specific group of the lbgt community, and I feel myself to be among them. Homophobia is annoying because it treats us as second class citicens, but as far as faggotry goes, it's extra annoying, because you can be murdered for being flamboyant. And having to hide who you are to avoid death is a ridiculous thing to tell another human being to do. Especially in a country that purports to give everyone an opportunity to pursue their path to happiness so long as it doesn't infringe upon the rights of others. If I lived somewhere else that did not tell me that upfront, I would be less upset about the way I was treated.

You know what, here's a video that actually explains it better then I could: http://takocos.tumblr.com/post/49125986443

Do you think being a racist shitstain is easier? Nobody knows deh trubbles I seen, nobody knows my sorrows!

Its not, Rory.

The media thinks its "cool" and a fringe of liberal activists on the internet think its "cool," and of course homosexuals themselves like the idea, but no, the general public doesn't think its cool. The media is not the public.

"Tolerance," isn't the same as thinking something is cool.

There have always been fag hags and such who like to chill with gay guys. Even in the 1940s. Judy Garland was a fag hag. Not new. The public may have bought the media narrative about gay rights but that doesn't mean the majority of straight people think its cool.

We actually have zero idea what the majority of people feel about homosexuality because there is no real dialogue. Most people who might have negative feelings are terrified to say anything for fear of persecution, being fired, etc. The only thing we can say is that more people feel individuals who have gay sex should be tolerated, whatever that means. To extrapolate that into them thinking its "cool" just because the entertainment industry and the media think it is, would be a massive leap.

There's tons of dialogue. More and more Americans are feeling free to be who they are and that's leading to a lot of the traditionally anti-gay folks to come to terms with having gay friends and family members. They see that they're not bad people, dirty, evil, corrupt, etc and that leads them to either soften their anti-gay stance or switch sides on the issue. I see it happening all the time and probably so do you. And if you've been around Lit for a while you can see it happening here - check this out from just today:

BTW, people are people

and Im sure gay parents can be as good or bad as hetro parents

That's the direct result of dialogue, even if it's BB's own style of dialogue. People are changing... America is changing. And it's the direct result of dialogue.
