What's your major mean of transportation?

Living in a large city in Denmark, I don't have a need for a car (they are way to expensive here anyway) so my daily form of transportation is my bicycle. I have a around 15 minute bike ride to work, and if the weather is bad I'll take a bus. The crazy thing is that if I take the bus, it takes between 35 - 45 minutes to get to work!

So what's your major mean of transportation?

Well I work too far away to just ride a bike, so I have a car. Just got it last summer, I absolutely love it!

Car, car, car, car , car.

I hate public transport (although the trains in Denmark are MUCH cleaner than the ones in the UK).

As for walking...I walk from my front door to the car.....does that count??

:p

Edit to add: Shyguy I would have said 'nice bike' when looking at the pic, but it seems to be missing and engine, doors and a roof

Yes I know you are a lazy ass ... did you get any excercise bike riding done during your stay in Denmark?? :D

And if you look closer, the first time I mentioned it, I did write bicycle in my post! :p And it is a very nice bike.

Dark blue Lincoln Town Car. My business ventures, and visits to family members who live hundreds of miles away, require a lot of long drives. I really appreciate the comfort of driving this car. With its air suspension, I can drive hundreds of miles over Califonia's torn-up highway pavements and not feel the potholes and not arrive at my destination exhausted and sore as I did in my 1985 Dodge van that I had before getting my first Town Car (now on my 3rd Town Cra and I love them). I just hate how much gas costs for it, though! If they would put air suspension standard on a more fuel-efficient car, I'd love that!

Also have a Toyota pickup for when we need to haul around big, heavy stuff locally, that you just can't carry in a Town Car. But not main form of transportation.

For less than a mile away and not have to carry anything (like groceries), use bicycle or foot power.

Also own a restored 1953 truck that I use in parades and car shows. Again, not for transportation, though.

I live in Europe now, so I either walk, take the bus, or take the train. Apparently that saying "Once you learn how to ride a bike, you'll never forget" doesn't hold true. I tried riding a bike when I moved here since it seems like almost everyone does it in European coutnries and I totally forgot how. I haven't rode a bike since I was 10 or 11-years-old.

I hate taking the metro in Amsterdam. They are always dirty and smell.

Cars are also more expensive to have here than in the USA. I thought it was expensive to have one in the USA, but it's more expensive to have one here.

I live in almost the smallest burg known to man. I walk to and from work when the heat is not miserable. walk to the library and to pay the water end elecrtic bills.

for groceries and trips to the real cities, I drive my almost antique car...I want a bigger car, the matchbox is too small.

Shhhhh!

The only riding I did in Denmark was on him

:D

That was plenty exercise, thank you lol

mistertripps I love the mini, it looks really well cared for.
I used to have a PT Cruiser called Betsy. She was red, curvy and sexy. Sadly she had to go to a new owner :(
I have a very small silver car now. It is not the same but it is cheaper to run than Betsy ever was.

I work for myself so I take my truck with me. I do walk to the bank, store & etc. if I have the time. I also bike and hike, again, if I have the a chance to go.

Pretty rural on this end with a 22 mile one way trip to work.

Honda Accord LX...nice two door

Dailey driver= Dodge Ram quad cab. Week end fun, Corvette convertible. Would you believe the Vette gets 27 plus mpg on a road trip? Don't ya just love economy cars. lol.

Had to get a new car recently and its a black Toyota Camry with beige interior. I had gotten away from Toyotas in the past but never again unless they go out of business while Im alive.

Thanks for the comment. I do my best to keep her looking good. Maybe I can give you a ride some time....

I'm a carpenter, and have to carry tons of tools on a daily basis, so I drive a Dodge van. On the rare occasian that I get to stay on one jobsite for more then 3 days, I leave the tools on site and ride my motorcyle to work.

as subject

My Land Rover "Discovery" .. a superb vehicle in every respect.

I live just far enough outside a Town for public transport to be problematic,I also live in a part of the UK which is predominantly flat but many of the roads & lanes are bordered by high hedges, sitting up high in my "Dicso" permits me to see over the hedge tops & affords me a clear, safe view of the road ahead.

My part of the Country is also coastal & I'm able to pursue my hobby (Wildlife photography) in coastal areas of sand/dunes/scrub etc in this vehicle .. whereas I couldn't trust a "normal" car if I ended up in soft ground .. "it does just what it says on the tin" ... & I love it ... :D

Bye for now,

Poacher xx
