I'm curious what everyone does for a living. Forgive me if this has been done before.

Homeschooling mom of four, doula, student midwife, childbirth educator and psychologist... woman of many hats?

I've been looking for a day job for ten months. Apparently, I'm unemployable.

My profile says "gainfully unemployed"

I'm a stay at home mom. Also, I sell stuff on Ebay to support my outrageous twink porn habit.

Software Engineer - My title is Principal Software Engineer.

I'm also a Father, GrandFather, Husband and a Dirty Old Man.

right now? Stay at home mom/activist for American Indian issues.

In my previous life I was a regional training manager for a large retail company.

i'm a mom.

i also own and operate a small textile manufacturing mill. (That's according to the state. Truth is i have a floor loom and use it.) Other than that, i'm right there with Boota. Unemployable.

I work in the financial services sector. Before that I was a retail manager.

Some think I make a living from the sufferings of others. I guess I need to hire someone like Honey and life would be complete

At the present moment, unemployed when referring to money (I'm sure many of you remember helping me to compose my 'polite' resignation letter when I walked out of my administrator post in local government - education.), but I'm happily keeping home for my beloved gosling, tucked away in a dry, dusty and quite perfect corner of Arizona - quite possibly in my experience, the driest place on earth.

In my previous life, I was a professional (and damn good), secretary/personal assistant/administrator, and worked in those roles for the large chunk of my last 38 years. In between I was wife, mother of two boys, classroom assistant and nightworker in a supermarket (dear old Tescos.).

I definitely prefer my current occupation. The perks are just wonderful. ;)

Psychologist, psychotherapist...currently in private practice and working in substance abuse treatment. Also currently exploring a ministerial calling.

My first career was in commercial illustration and design.

I want to deeply honor the mothers here, stay-at-home or not, and the work that you do for no monetary compensation and little cultural acknowledgment.

Thank you.

And I bet you're amazing at it, as well. Isn't it lovely when your talents and your inclinations coincide so nicely?

I've waited tables, worked in fast food joints (inevitably in the drive through - apparently my chronic impatience is a plus there), been a lifeguard and swimming instructor, and served in several different capacities in an animal shelter. I am gainfully employed at the moment, but am hoping to change careers some time in the next two years. Once I'm quite through with my current position, I'll be happy to tell you what it is.
