What's wrong with Stephen King?

Yes I hope he lives to complete it too. That accident of his awhile back scared the hell out of me, thought his vision would die with him. But can ya really blame the guy for taking so long to complete it? It is gonna be a masterpiece once he finishes it, so it is understandable to me for him to take his time instead of rushing through it like some of his other works.

there were no killer shrubs in the movie.

Are you referring to the first "Shining"? In the 'made for TV' version, those damn things chase that little boy like heck. (this was around 5yrs ago) It was Stephen's idea of how "Shining" shouldve been done. The guy from "Wings" starred in it. He was awesome.

Never saw the remake, never will. Just cant see anyone other than Jack N. as Jack T. One other movie I am surprised I or no one else mentioned is 'It' now there was one freaky movie, no where near the book but almost as good!

I loved the Kubrick movie, but I can understand people who complain when a movie fails to follow a book. It is pretty irritating

A Stephen King book, in general, does not transfer well to the screen, except for his more realistic works. You read and you imagine what is going on in a fantastic way that can never be reproduced on the screen.

Stephen King books...3/4 of them are literary fluff, entertaining but not valuable literature. The remaining 1/4 is great literature, but will not be recognized as such in his lifetime. His books interconnect and weave themselves into a much larger story that has not even been half told yet. I doubt his larger story will ever be fully told but you can see it between the linesof his books

"Misery" is a book that translated well to the screen. It's a psychological thriller rather than straight horror which is why it works so well. Kathy Bates would have to be scariest actress of all time winner. Now, put Jack and her in a movie...
