I LOVE country, but radio dosen't ever play Lila McCann. I don't understand how she can have SO MANY fans, 1.5 mil albums sold,(and with the new album, climbing,) but only 2 hits. How is it that whenever a singer, (other than Lila,) has a new song, it instantly because a smach. Happans to EVERYONE IT SEEMS!!!! Brooks & Dunn, Lonestar, Chely Wright, Brad Paisley, Gary Allen, Mongomery Gentry, and worst of all, the new Faith Hill. GOD, that "Pearl Harbor" song ANNOYS THE HELL OUT OF ME!!!!!!!! ALL THEIR NEW STUFF IS ALREADY A TOP 40 HIT!!!!!!!! WHY NOT LILA????? That's is SO DISCOURAGING!!!!!!!! It's feels like I'm the only one that ever requests her on my local station. Anybody out their wanna talk music? Or, better, talk Lila music?

What is wrong with county is the godamned Urban Cowboy group had kids and together their buying power decides what us po rural folk gotta listen to which is whys we all changin' to blue grass and folk musik by gum, dagnabit, damn city folk, bored, lazy, line-dancin', 3.2 beer drinkin' hypocrits and imported beer drinkin' elitists, why i could go on all day...

"TOO Much big money!"

I have listened to country music most of my life.In the 60's & 70's I was into R&R.Once the 80's arrived, the R&R went to hell as far as I was concerned. So I switched to country again. They played classic country still on the radio.

Then the 90's came around, and the country music today is sickening. All the artist want to come out with a song that they will play on country & pop stations alike.

You never hear Hank Jr.,or Waylan Jennings,or CDB hardly on the radio anymore. It's always these new artist.

There was a country station in my area that played alot of "Rock-a-Billy" music. And they played alot of local bands music. But some big corporation bought out the station, and now all they play is the same top 10 artist all fucking day long. You can almost set your watch with the song's they play.

It's gotten to the point where I don't hardly even listen to the radio anymore.
I have around 1600 CD's,and a Kenwood 200 CD player.So now I play what I want to hear.

I play steel guitar and there are lots of country players on the Steel Guitar Forum. I've got to say they are the most misereable bunch ever, they are forever complaining about the state of country music.
I say, "if you want it different, why not play it different?"
But then again I don't play country!

You might be interested in this -- I had to do some business with a man the other day who is starting a new niche cable channel called "The Guitar Channel". All guitars, all the time.

At first I thought it was a stupid idea, but then I realized how many people play and love guitar.

"The Xylophone Channel", on the other hand, would be a stupid idea.

country music was good when it was a blend of appalachian music and folk songs, people like Hank Williams Jr or Johnny Cash, people with something to say or a story to tell....now it is all crap.

Yeah, but the second wife comes back too,

and those two bitches never got along!

:p

URGH!!! SHE BUGS THE HELL OUT OF ME!!!!!!!

Microwave Bullshit...

All Music is suffering right now due to instant access, and because there is little or no talent developing through a slower cooker...Madonna would have never made it in the 70's or earlier...

How can you say that?

Madonna, like most successful people had drive, determination, the will to be, for lack of better words. It may not have been the pop genre, but it would have been something. Some forces are too great to overcome. I have close friends who have made it in the fields of music and comedy and (especially for the comedian) it was not talent as much as, I won't ever go away until you listen to my demo, so just listen to it damnit!

And that sums it up quite nicely.
