I hadn't had any in such a long time, and recently I started drinking some Dr Pepper.

Fuck. It tastes so good. I just want to make love to it as I'm taking it down.

I'm pretty sure it's not good for me though.

My body craves it.

How do I stop?

I just did cold turkey like I did with smoking. It's not the easiest way to quit something but it's the fastest and usually healthiest.
I will still have a diet now and then but that's it. Honestly don't miss it.

I drank way too many carbonated beverages on Halloween 2014 and the following day November 1st, 2014, I decided to see if I could go one entire year without soft drinks.

I made it. Since my one year challenge, I've completely gotten out of the habit of drinking soft drinks....I have one drink maybe every two months.

In all honesty, if Facebook hadn't sent me a "you have memories" thing this morning, I'd have forgotten I'd even completed the challenge.

Anything you can add a little flavor packet to like Crystal Light and such that is carbonated works.

You'll learn quickly that the fix is mainly in the fizz. No shit, it worked for me.

Start drinking bottled water as you taper off soft drinks.

Caffeine and sugar is addictive.

Withdrawals is a bitch.

You can do. I drank soft drinks when I have no bottle water at hand during meals somewhere.

I only buy Pepsi to mix my Wild Turkey 101 with...

Freaks people out when I order Coke or Pepsi at a restaurant.:D

That's one addiction I don't understand the difficulty of breaking.

Had permissive parents, and drank soda like it was water til I was in my mid 20s. Then, decided to stop. *shrug*

I just drink vodka straight out of the bottle...

From the freezer of course! What am I, a drunk!?

Switch to high end, hard to get kinds and buy them individually?

I like Henry Weinhard's gourmet Root Beer but it is not easy to get and about $2 a bottle.

Don't they make an app for that?

Seriously: has simple, natural will power become too expensive? Lost all its affect? What does it say about the mouse of a man who can't even stop himself from drinking soda pop? Or, is that too mean, too insensitive, too uncaring of a query to ask of someone facing the utter horror of doing without such lustful, sugary elixir to one's lips? Do I need first to walk a mile in your Pepsi bottles so that I can experience some degree of plastic compassion for your dire situation?

This is what happens when you buy the world a Coke instead of making them pay for it their own damn selves.

No different than anything else. You just put the shit down and say no.

Switch to Yellowtail Shiraz.

Switch to straight whiskey.

You can buy it at Walmart and 2 bucks is only slightly above average.

I was proud of how often I eschew soda. I drink water with most meals. Recently, however, I have discovered the Mexican version of Kool-Aid. Do not replace your Dr. Pepper addiction with Mexican Kool-Aid. It's basically Kool Aid on crack; the cantaloupe flavor actually taste like cantaloupe.

The secret to not drinking soda is to not drink soda.

Yes, but the first rule of not drinking soda is to not talk about not drinking soda.

Dr. Pepper and Mr. Pibb have more caffeine per ounce than Pepsi-Cola and Coca-Cola. Know your dosages.

Anyone watching the World Series of Poker? It's on ESPN right now. Down to the final two.

That's my other addiction. Poker.

Arte started drinking a lot of seltzer water as well, though she will still have a pop maybe once a week.

I drink less of it than I did, almost always when I'm also eating an unhealthy meal since why the hell not.
