what's the length limit on story blurbs?

I assume there is a limit, but does anyone know how many characters we can fit in the story description? Laurel edited my last one. I'm not sure if that was for length or not but it did end up shorter. If I know the number of spaces I can use I can make sure the blurb gets all the info in there without going over the limit.

The story title and blurb have to fit on one line in the story index. Or as near to it as she can get. The length varies depending on the title.
