What's the deal?

Early this morning, our host tried to install a new tape backup drive, and apparently it caused some sort of "resource conflict" that was messing with the network card. We thought it was resolved, but for some reason all hell broke loose in the last hour or so. It's being worked on as I write this. As most of you know, whenever we add any new hardware there is usually some sort of wonkiness. I think I must have bad e-karma. ;)

bad e-karma

Is it seperate and distinct from regular run-of-the-mill karma?
How does one fix bad e-karma?
I guess my first question should have been how does one get get bad e-karma?
Is it a function of how many times one has ignored someone with whom they've become.. ummm.. friendly?
Is it a function of how many times one has moved "homes", leaving upheaval behind?
Should those of us who've been online a long long time get some kinda handicap, like in golf, to deal with the many more people we've brushed up against over the years - all in the name of avoiding bad e-karma?
Or do i just need to turn my puter off and go do something else now like a good girl?

Enquiring minds want to know...

At about five AM the server started telling me I was forbidden.

That's right, and official Forbidden Fruit now. *drumroll please*

It died for me somewhere around 11 am central time. All I could get is that hated screen about the page not being available. Went to do errands, etc. and just got back. Seems to be working fine now.

Yes, I'm sure Nightlite wants an announcement. :)
