When Oscar (see the AV? that's Oscar) was just a little tiny kitty, one of his first toys was this stupid thing that was just a black stick that was about 18 inches long with a blue feather and a bell on the end of it (we called it "The Blue Thing"). He LOVED that stupid thing. You could slide it along the floor and get him running back and forth and back and forth and back and forth... Or dangle it over his head and he'd jump for it and I even got him to do back flips trying to catch it, lol. And whenever he was ready for playtime he'd go find the Blue Thing and he'd drag it into whatever room his people were in and you'd hear him coming long before he ever got there.... Cause you'd here the Blue Thing dragging on the floor and the bell ringing and he'd be purring like a machine with this thing hanging out of this mouth. It was just toooo fucking cute for words, lol.

Eventually he wore out the Blue Thing and we later replaced it with the Orange Thing (same thing with an orange feather, duh). But now that he's getting to be a big boy, he doesn't play with the Orange Thing much anymore. He's got other toys that he likes more, but one in awhile he'll drag it out of his toy box.

Anyways... I was sitting here just a few moments ago and I here the bell ringing and the stick being dragged along the hardwood floor and next thing I know Oscar his running in here with the Orange Thing hanging out of his mouth, he jumps up on the computer desk with the Orange thing still hanging out of his mouth, drops it on the desk, gives me this cockeyed look and lets out a BIG "MEEEEOOOOWWWWW!!!"

I think it's probably playtime, lol.

Which kitty? I now have 2. :)

Um, the one came home. She's been gone for 3 weeks. Figures she'd do that just after I replace her with a new and adorable kitten. :)

Option Kitty, she eats dog food, her best pal is a bunny and if you walk by the bed she will chase you and jump on your leg with both paws...as if to say "TAG....you're it!!!"

Fell asleep beside the huge stuffed white tiger (fake, bought from a store called "San Francisco") and it just looked so cool.

Yesterday, we picked up Owen & Aiko from the "kitty hotel" they stay at when we're on vacation. They're used to having access to their people pretty much 24/7, so they get lonely when they're away from us. Owen is especially attention-needy.

We're both pretty busy trying to get caught up on everything, but the kitts don't really care about our priorities. I walked from room to room, and Owen followed me. Whenever I stopped for a minute, he laid on my feet until I reached down and gave him pets.

I finally make it back to my desk. Semi-annoyed, I scooch myself up close so Owen won't have room to jump into my lap like he enjoys doing (it's hard to type around his big bulk). Instead, Owen jumps up on my desk and lays stretched out between me and my monitor...and goes to sleep. As I type this, his big spotty belly is rising and falling in my face. He's such a cutie.

Unfortunately, the only noteworthy cat thing of the day was a hairball as I walked in the door from a long day at work.

At least it was on the kitchen floor and not on the carpeting like it usually is.

We have six kitties, various shapes and sizes, all fixed, all indoor, all spoiled. Two female tabby tortoiseshell (gorgeous) and four males (two black, two white). We rescued three from the shelter (one died), one from a farm, two were strays, and we took one from a friend whose cat had kittens. We're hopeless, I know, but when my old kitty died (she was almost 19) I started collecting cats, hoping to - what - fill the void? Anyway - that is why we have so many.

Cute things? Hmmmm. The two biggest males, one black (Jones) and one white (Big Eej), fight over me. They sit on either side of me and glare at each other if I don't pet them both equally. The tiniest kitty - Taz - has her "piggies" from our children's Fisher Price Farm set. She chases that thing all over the house, usually in the middle of the night. You can hear her running over the hardwood floors. (she also steals all my makeup brushes) The other female, Jenny, refuses to drink water from her dish unless I put a few cubes into it. The other white kitty, Ski, is so clumsy he should actually be a dog. He even falls off the couch. And our other black kitty - Macavity - flushes the toilet every chance he gets.

It is terrific to come home from a long day and be greeted by friendly critters. So we have five litter boxes - so what??? And hey - what's a few hairballs between friends? Our kitties do love us unconditionally, no matter what people say - they enrich our lives.

As sick as my Big Guy is, he still purrs whenever I pet him. Right now he is setting at my feet in a basket on a nice warm blanket.

Huh . . . well, my other kitties are back at my parents' house so I'm not sure what they've done today. The one who does live with me (actually he's not mine per se; he's my foster cat--yeah, ask me about that) hasn't been having the cutest day. He started out by peeing on my rug. Mind you, the floors are hardwood and beat to shit--it would have been fine if he'd peed there--but no, he chose the one solitary rug in the place, and because I have hardwood floors, I don't have carpet cleaner. I guess I can't blame him, though--I'm the lazy shit who hadn't cleaned his litter box in almost a week. So I cleaned it.

What he really likes to do that is cute is hang out in the bathtub and beg me to turn on the spigot. He likes to drink out of it , but he also loves to get his head wet. His fur is pretty long so when it gets wet it gets all big and afro-like. I tried to tell him that big hair was out, but he won't listen. Every morning, Bill has to do his hair.

LOL... We have this retarded old bathroom that has separate knobs for the shower and for the tub, so we keep the cold water for the tub on a slooow drip pretty constantly and all 3 of our cats just love it... But Oscar does the same thing. He's always running around with a little wet spot on the back of his head just behind his ears, lol.

You want the truth????

Well here it is.... my cat have been a slut all day out on our deck with the local tom. I must have seen them doing it about 6 times today. After, she climbs up on a deck chair and sits there so proud of herself. The tom cat sits below her keeping gaurd...

Kittens in a few weeks. :)

I took a walk down to the end of the street and my cat followed me, and when I got to the end he sat down and gave me this look like he thought I was never coming home again. Then I walked the other way and he kept following me.
