SeaCat said:I need to know. What's the best oil for a Deep Fryer? (I just got a nice sized one for the new place and I need to know the best oil to use in it.)

SeaCat said:Okay then, it seems Peanut Oil is the one to go with. (Believe it or not the manufacturor recomended something like Criscoe. Somehow I can't see myself using this.)
Hmmmmmm, deep fried in Butter, only if I'm going to do it outside away from any over hanging trees or low flying planes. (Much like my cooking thick chunks of bacon on the grill. I have to warn the FAA so they can put out an avoidance guidline for the fireballs.)

Sudden large gouts of flame might get you a trip to Guantanamo if you're not careful.![]()

SensualCealy said:Hi Cat,
The word around here is, if you want the best fries in all of Florida, fill your fryer with half peanut and half with saflower or a good vegtable oil like Crisco. The best Fry joint which is just down the street from me does something similar, they do a first fry in peanut then a second fry to crisp the fries in vegtable oil.
When I asked Bob what his trick is for the absolute best fries in the world he told me what he does, but if you dont have two fryers like he has, combine the two and you will get the same flavour.
Just watch if anyone you are serving has a peanut allergy!
Happy frying!

ps. You know it takes a real man to deep fry in the nude!![]()
