what's so magic about march 4th?

a couple of times over the past week i've read stories where t-word supporters say, "t-word will be back in office on march 4th and (cue ominous music) then you'll all be sorry!" why march 4th? are they going to egg the pentagon? toilet paper the white house rose garden? parade through dc in golf carts? why fucking march 4th?

I'm not sure if it's related, but March 4 used to be Inauguration Day. They changed the date halfway through FDR because 1) it no longer took that long to get to DC from anywhere else in the country, and 2) the long gap between the election and the new president taking over was inconvenient and unnecessary. Since the crazy right has a fetish for Original Intent, it could be they believe March 4 is the only real, official date for the new president to be sworn in.

Date-certain prophesies

Well, some of you might remember the Rapture cult. In that situation, a cult leader stated that on a certain day, God or Christ or some ghost would come to the Earth, and 100,000 true believers were going to ascend into the heavens, and everybody else would go to hell. They believed this so much that the self-identified true believers sold their homes and quit their jobs.

The day came, and the prophesy did not happen. So then, the cult leader said, "Oops, I made a slight miscalculation when I was analyzing the revelations, and it will happen soon [on another date].

Well, that second date came and went, also. No rapture. No big appearance by the ghost.

This is why we have a thread on this board to document the progress of cult leader Trump's second consecutive term. It's weird, his second term has not started yet. Check that thread on March 4th to get a status update.

Meanwhile, with the date-certain prophesies still being made, QAnon keeps selling their merchandise, and con-artist Trump keeps raising money from suckers awaiting his hallowed return.
