For all of you who thought that Canada was the home of the poor second cousin to The Real Cosmetic Companies...have a look at Euoko and it's facial cream par excellence, Y-30 Intense Lift Concentrate.
It's claim to The New Height of Silliness...viper venom. Tropidolaemus wagleri venom, to be exact.
The company was looking for something to take on Botox, the neuromuscular paralytic toxin produced by the Botulinum bacteria, (as in botulism, the food poisoning that can kill you) and they cleverly thought of viper venom, the stuff that vipers use to kill their prey.
The face cream, which the company says reduces facial wrinkles, costs $525.00 for just over an ounce. It works out to $17.50 a milliliter.
"Our clients all come back, and they love it. They can't be without it, not even for a week."
And get this. It's been tested!! Forty-five female volunteers, ages 40 to 60, were given one of three creams to be used twice daily for 28 days. Some were given the snake venom cream, some another anti-aging cream and some a placebo cream.
It gets better. By using a highly sensitive camera, the company's scientists were able to measure a 73% improvement in forehead wrinkles in women using the viper venom cream. By comparison, the other anti-aging cream was only able to achieve a 73% improvement in forehead wrinkles. And the placebo cream...a miserable 71% improvement. Way to go, viper venom!!
"You notice the difference immediately. It has a velvety texture and you can feel an instant tightening. It's expensive, but absolutely worth the cost"
Especially when you consider how it totally outperformed the other stuff, not to mention the placebo.

Just in case you thought I was making this up...
