I know there must be a connection somewhere...

You can't do both at the same time. If you try to engage in love while you're in the middle of, say, coding a fixed-point FFT routine, it leads to serious bugs.

The answer, in my case, is obsessionality. One is merely a sublimation of t'other.

As Tina Turner so memorably phrased it:

IT'S PHYSICAL
ONLY LOGICAL
YOU MUST TRY TO IGNORE
THAT I.T. MEANS MORE THAN THAT

No.

Since love cannot be codified, enumerated or even explained, love does not exist in I.T.

That's so true/false.

The link is the frustration... trying to get someone in I.T. to help you or arguing with your woman... pretty much the same feeling.

Sincerely,

After a while, it's a great feeling to let go, come out the other side intact and just enjoy things for exactly what they are.

Pure, feelthy, amazing, rampant sex, with a bloody good mate.

What's love got to do with it? Indeed!

Oh, you said, I.T! Oh well, same thing. Ish.

In Love as in OS software, if you don't process interrupts (from the SO) quickly enough you're in serious trouble. ;)

I lusted after the computer operator when I was at Uni studying Systems Analysis. God, she was gorgeous! Haven't thought of that for years.

I was the manager of a mainframe system when I was 19.

I had 25 young ladies working as my team and their median age was 22.

Getting engaged to one of them was a mistake as a manager but not as a person.
