What's happening with the new poem reviews?

This is not a rant and I am not blaming anybody. So please don't be incensed by what I have to say.

-----------
I'm a little confused by what is going on with the new poem reviews. I've noticed a few times that reviewers aren't reviewing.

It would be great if anybody notices that a review hasn't been done to jump in and lend a helping hand.

And if any of the reviewers on the rota doesn't want to do it anymore, please leave a message.

Not sure what's happening with the "regulars." Some other poets are posting reviews on occasion. Perhaps most of us take it for granted that you will always have a review available for us. :)
Hopefully, the usual reviewers will sign in here like they've done on the other reviewer threads, and let us know if they are still available for reviews.

My guess would be that mainly this is because it's summertime for most of us (sorry, WSO :)). It's daylight until quite late at night and people are just involved doing other things. If you have children, as many of the poets here do, you're probably ferrying them around to camp or baseball or to the beach or something. Many people are on holiday.

Also, the posting of the poems has been even flakier than usual, perhaps for the same reasons as above. That complicates things as well.

But if someone wants to take a few weeks off, I could try and fill in. I have some vacation coming up, and there is always the possibility that I'll be out of town on business with no access to the Internet, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

And thank you Mr. Dust for your diligence in trying to fill in. Thanks also for your nice comment on my latest. :)

I'm sorry that the interest has waned in the PF & D. It has been like this for several months now, but you're certainly appreciated for all reviews and the activity in the forum, vampiredust. :rose:

I can't do a regular day of review, but what I can do is pay more attention to the New Poems thread, mention poems when I see slack. I think that was the main idea to begin with anyway, am I right, Eve? As long as the new poems are being read every day by someone.

Many posters have stated in the past that they want a reviewer for each day to make sure that all days are covered. Everyone is free to review whenever they please. Maybe it's time to see who is willing to commit to a day. I know some reviewers are still active. Which days are not covered? We cannot put all this on vampiredust. He will eventually burn out. Many of us have been there, and you do burn out.

I am still doing

Monday...I had a few bumps last month ...and VD covered...but, I am up for Monday unless VD wants to do it...then ...its ok by me... :)

sapho's sister 7/20 was the last poem posted then yesterday morning I looked and there were no poems. Last night / evening I got online and posted on threads, there were still no poems, then this morning, my poem, 'La Gloria' shows to be posted 7/21 next to sapho's sister's and all the poems 7/21 7/22 and 7/23 showed up....????????

hard to review poems that are not there <grin but as you can see they all showed up today... (?)

I don't think the thread has anything to do with you not reviewing your day's nonexistent new poems or the fact that we had no new poems for a couple of days.
This is simply a discussion we've had before: who is doing which day, and if you're not doing a day, then feel free to post a review. And that's it. :cathappy:

I'm so sorry that I haven't been contributing more to the forum. It's hard to do when you're tired all the time. I do try to read and comment, but then the sheer volume of poems, that come off of the careless fingertips of people who simply post to say they've posted, discourages me and I'm exhausted before I even begin.

That's my excuse.

I appreciate the work that Vampy Dust has put into encouraging the poets of summer and I know he deserves so much more than my excuses for not helping out. But, it's all empirical until I've recovered from my postponed surgery and we'll see what happens after that.

That's my promise.

This is a regular dip in participation that happens during vacation times. Summer, Thanksgiving/Christmas and Easter/Spring break are all occassions when the participation here drops off a bit. Don't fret about a week when no reviews are posted, odds are that someone will finally notice the time it takes to do them when they're not there for them to take advantage of and maybe take up the slack.

i'm loving my winter Tzara, don't apologise. :rose:

i don't spend much time reading the new poems, just now and then. i try to add to the reviews when i see something that takes my fancy.

if anybody's stuck for a day then i could have a go, maybe. ...maybe not. i think i'd rather spend my free time writing. i'll just keep popping in and adding my thoughts when i have time. :)

I'm still covering Wednesday but I do see vampiredust all over the place ~ take it easy guy ~ don't burn out!

I love burning out!

Think I'll try it again! What days are open?

:D

(have to get my creative juices flowing some way)
