What's Cookin'?

Neither myself nor Blondie felt like cookin so we ordered out. Lasagna, chicken parm, fettucine alfredo, spaghetti with meatballs, side salads and minestrone soup, and don't forget the sourdough loaves with garlic butter! Fed 9 people and have leftovers for lunch tomorrow :)

A recipe claiming to be the ultimate peanut butter chocolate cookies. It only had 1/2 c pb and they turned out very mediocre.

I'd forgotten I made this thread.

Friday is my son-in-law's day to cook and he's turned it into pizza night. Frozen or delivery. Depends on his wallets mood I guess lol.

Mr. and I weren't feelin' it tonight and opted out. Ended up at Denny's. I had a sirloin with redskin mash and broccoli.

I made philly cheesesteaks. All from Costco too. Cooked in a cast iron pan and they were delicious. Still have leftovers.

Cooking bean soup tomorrow. Navy beans with spinach, kale, carrots, radishes, celery, onions, garlic cloves. Tonight I baked spinach and kale with salmon. Sprinkled the kale and spinach with olive oil and garlic salt. Delish.

Going to try oven baked beef ribs from Sam the cooking guy. It’s too cold to bbq.

Ribeye tomorrow. Another recipe from Sam the Cooking guy and the technique is reverse searing. We’ll see.

Reverse searing works well. Nothing spectacular, but it’s easy. I’ve made Heston’s eggs again. So good. Dinner tonight? More ribeye, not sure of the sides yet.

Green beans are good, no carrots though. Might go with salad and garlic bread. Too many choices.

I made poolish last night from Vito Lacopelli. I have never found the perfect pizza dough recipe. Maybe it’s because I don’t have NY water or maybe this poolish is the secret. Today is the day we find out if my pizza dough recipe search is over.

Decided to do a 2nd proof on the pizza dough, so back in the refrigerator for 16-24 hours. Having beef ribs, but cooking them in the oven like a roast instead of braising.

That soup sounds tasty. Not a salmon fan but I'll take the spinach and kale :)

Made the Mr. and I some burgers. Medium with pepper jack, co-jack, tomato, onion and mayo/mustard. Tasty.

Philly cheesesteaks tonight

The pizza dough is the best I have tried. Next time only doing 1 rise, 2 takes too much time. I have some in the freezer for pizza nights, very happy with it.

Next time I want to try overnight yeast pancakes. Sounds like they might be good.

Tea is perfect for late nights, unless you want to sleep

Tea, coffee, soda, water. Doesn't matter, I drink it all and go on to bed. Too much of a caffeine addict, doesn't wake me up or keep me up but it does keep folks alive lol.

Mr. and I went out for dinner tonight. I had a side salad first and then toasted ravioli with a side of alfredo sauce, crispy chicken and broccoli. Mr. had their wedding soup and baked ziti. Instead of our typical sangria we went with water and brought home cheesecake for dessert YUM!

^^Sounds like a fun date night.

Simple dinner of nachos and also made chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. Too lazy to drop them as individual cookies, instead made bars, delicious.

Tonight it’s LA galbi. I use a regular simple bulgogi sauce with flanken cut beef cooked on an indoor grill. Messy, smoky and delicious.

My turnip kimchi turned out crunchy, slightly sweet and exactly the way it was supposed to. I’m very proud of myself.
