Whatever happened to Drive-in's and pickup trucks?

Pickup trucks and drive-ins were like oil and water.

They sat too high, blocking everyone's view, took up a lot of space, and they didn't legally carry as many people as a sedan or a station wagon back in the day unless they had an extended cab. That's potential revenue loss on a number of levels.

...but there was the mattress in the bad and with a truck cap you did'nt get rained on.

That doesn't make sense for a drive-in. Harder to see the movie from a truck bed with a cap.

But, for you, it makes perfect sense as your first apartment.

I just back it into the parking space.

So when the movie is playing why does Jack Daniels suddenly show up?

Lots of pickup trucks left here in Iowa. I can see 4 right out in my driveway.

And not 1 of them has 4 headlights.

Did pick up trucks suddenly disappear?
I did not get the memo either. I just checked. Both of mine are still there.

Yes, once gasoline hit $4.00 a Gal.
Nah. I depends on what type truck you drive. Next truck I get, it might be a diesel. Diesel get better mileage.

Wrong. Pickups are perfect for that! You sit on the tailgate or you can lay down in the truck bed and enjoy the view. But it is best to park in the back. Any drive-in I went to back in the day, had signs directing trucks to the back of the drive-in. I only know of one operating drive-in these days.

Indiana is full of them.

And every one has at least four headlights. WTF is that about?

Most people with 4 headlights on trucks are either rednecks or wanna be macho men. 4 lights serve a good purpose in most cases for those very few who actually use them for their intended purposes. Most people (men) that have them, very rarely need them for anything outside being a nuisance.

Simple math. It is common knowledge. Your F150 is mostly a road vehicle with smaller engine and less gears to pull on its power. That F250 of yours is much larger AND its a 4X4 mostly used off-road. And off road usage requires much more fuel. If your F250 were gasoline fueled, your mpg would be much worse. If you are getting worse mpg on the hwy with the diesel, then it is extremely low geared and not really set for high speed driving. My guess that you drive with TLC in that 4X4. I suspect you take good care of it.

If you are getting lower mpg on the hwy with the F250, somethings seriously wrong ir its better than you thought. Or something is leaking slowly somewhere when the truck is revved higher on the road. Though driving high speeds in a LOW geared pickup is not going to work in the vehicles favor.

I had a f 150 2011 with v8 best I got was 18 this 2012 v8 eco boost motor is way better.
In my f 250 if I use off road (farm diesel) which not allowed to do better mileage.

Just like anything want it to last gotta take care of it.
never had it in 4x4 was the only king ranch they had at the dealer that takes family plan.
