Pickup trucks and drive-ins were like oil and water.
They sat too high, blocking everyone's view, took up a lot of space, and they didn't legally carry as many people as a sedan or a station wagon back in the day unless they had an extended cab. That's potential revenue loss on a number of levels.
...but there was the mattress in the bad and with a truck cap you did'nt get rained on.
That doesn't make sense for a drive-in. Harder to see the movie from a truck bed with a cap.
But, for you, it makes perfect sense as your first apartment.
I just back it into the parking space.
There are still drive ins around. You just have to look.
We should go sometime.
It's a date!
We should go sometime.
Did pick up trucks suddenly disappear?
Did pick up trucks suddenly disappear?
Yes, once gasoline hit $4.00 a Gal.
Indiana is full of them.
And every one has at least four headlights. WTF is that about?
I did not get the memo either. I just checked. Both of mine are still there.Did pick up trucks suddenly disappear?
Nah. I depends on what type truck you drive. Next truck I get, it might be a diesel. Diesel get better mileage.Yes, once gasoline hit $4.00 a Gal.

Jrw my f 150 gets 22 highway and my f 250 4x4 diesel gets 16 but with off road I can get 19![]()
Simple math. It is common knowledge. Your F150 is mostly a road vehicle with smaller engine and less gears to pull on its power. That F250 of yours is much larger AND its a 4X4 mostly used off-road. And off road usage requires much more fuel. If your F250 were gasoline fueled, your mpg would be much worse. If you are getting worse mpg on the hwy with the diesel, then it is extremely low geared and not really set for high speed driving. My guess that you drive with TLC in that 4X4. I suspect you take good care of it.
If you are getting lower mpg on the hwy with the F250, somethings seriously wrong ir its better than you thought. Or something is leaking slowly somewhere when the truck is revved higher on the road. Though driving high speeds in a LOW geared pickup is not going to work in the vehicles favor.
