I tend to say either shag (British slang) or making-love (most accepted). Very rarely use the "F" word.

Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck, we love to fuck! :D It's exciting and romantic and passionate

I hate the word shag, sounds about as low brow as you can possibly get, makes it sound like a 13 year old who wants to sound cooler than they actually are, just like I hate the word snog or knickers.

Lol. The "F" word is deemed rude in polite society. Granted if you are posting on this site then you are probably not a member of said society. I just don't like the word. Oh and I don't care for the word knickers either. Too close to another word we are not supposed to say.

Wow, a bit of a backhanded slap to everyone on this site. I must say I have no idea how I manage to keep all my friends and go to family functions since I have no way of fitting in with "polite" society when I just keep telling them all to fuck off

Beck, are you kidding me??? People who post here are not members of polite society? Isnt that bit of an over-reaching generalization based on your perceptions and biases?

Again, as has been pointed out to you before .... posting these types of questions on a board about fetishes is probably not the most appropriate place .. particularly if you are not comfortable with the word fuck.

To answer your original question .... I will most often say fuck in private to my husband. To my friends I would use other euphemisms such as "getting busy" or "having a good time" or "getting frisky" ... because there is a time and place for everything ... including knowing when and where to use particular language.

And I am now just curious .... how do you feel about other "rude" words you may encounter here? cum, cunt, cock, dick, pussy?

*shakes my head and walks away muttering to myself* I really dont know why he is posting here if "the f word" is rude.

I was poking fun b/c I post on this site as well. No offense was ever intended.
A poster asked who deemed the "F" word rude and I answered. But more to the topic to me making-love denotes soft, slow, and tender. Effing denotes rough, hard, and fast. Primal almost animal need. I guess it all boils down to context.

This question has really stumped me because I cannot think of a word or phrase that we use to signal to the other that we are in the mood. Then again I cannot recall too many times when he (hubs is usually always the one to start it) has touched me in ways that are certain signals, that I have not gotten the message of what he wants to do. I am trying to get better at dirty talking. I simply have never been one to use that kind of language so at first I felt absolutely foolish but like a lot of things lately I am working on it. Maybe one day I can whisper in his ear while we are waiting to be seated at a restuarant that I really wish we were home so he could f**K me to pieces. I think he would do a double take.

Honestly I'm just quoting this so it can never be deleted in the future, but I tend to use "fuck" as well. It's the old word for it, after all. It has cognates in other German languages, whereas making love is extremely recent, and in the 1800s meant "woo," so don't be surprised to read about proper gentleman making love to a girl in front of everyone.

Whenever I can, I prefer to use the oldest Germanic words for things, especially those things that people think we ought to be ashamed of. I fuck, I piss, I shit.

Lol. I wee, shyte, and shag. Like I said if you can't poke fun at yourself then what is the point?

How exactly are you poking fun at yourself? Seems like you're continuing to deem yourself too polite for the rest of us animals who like to fuck.

Oh lighten up mate. If I was so bluddy polite do you really think I would even be on Lit?
Not bluddy likely. Oh and I never said you were an animal. It is the same concept just using different terms. Nobody is wrong and noone is right. It is just different. Threads like this get people talking and that is a good thing.

LM, That is the exact same reason I always quote Beck when I reply to him .. too many instances of him going back and deleting all of his posts in a thread.

And returning to the topic at hand ... words don't have power or meaning until we give them power and meaning. And what is comfortable for some people, is not comfortable for others. However, I dont think less of someone who doesnt use the word fuck (just like I dont think less of someone who wont try anal sex, as an example). But Beck, it does seem to me, that you are a bit judgmental in how you view those of us who are "uncivilized" enough to use that word.

And you havent responded to my question about how you feel about other words.

mmm. well i am not a real fan of those other slang terms but i get the point. Never said I thought you are others were uncivialized just b/c of the use of the word f**k. Sorry if I came across that way.

Ussually

Usually we say need some assistance or attention tonight
Or mom and dad need a few moments

I dislike the word moist.
It depends on who your conversing with when the subject of coitus is discussed. Next it depends on context, all text depends on Context. What matters is the style the act of coitus unfolded in. There is no one answer, but ridiculing people who give thought (granted not much thought w.the F, F, F, we love to F) is beside the point. If you took offense, you simply shouldnt have asked the question, or not bothered to read the responses. You knew that would be mentioned. So maybe you're just looking to get mad at something. There is enough to be mad at, even with your eyes closed.
I suggest two things:
Dont look at things that could more than likely cause offense
Find something to be happy about

I see. Well perhaps I can just go with the flow and accept the answers for what they are. Just different people's expressions.

Actually, yeah, you did.

I'm sorry. did not intend it to be an insult. I reread and I can see how that could be seen that way. I fixed the wording I think.

And *this* is why I quote you now Beck ... I think it is really rotten that when conversations don't go the way you want, you edit or delete your posts! I can even understand rephrasing the op if you thought the question you were asking wasn't clear. But to come back and edit your other replies feels underhanded to me. If you want to clarify your view, then a subsequent post to that effect seems to me to be the most upstanding way to do that. As always, jmho.

It shows character to either 1.) defend yourself and your posting, or 2.) admit if/when you're wrong, perhaps apologize if you're such a person, and then move on.

To edit content and totally change it as you did, and then pretend that the original comment was never said (so noobs walking in here remain clueless), shows bad character.

And, that is my opinion. Not "fact", per se.

OK, to take this conversation in a more constructive direction ....

What are your preferred terms for body parts such as penises, vaginas, breasts? My sister is quite inhibited and truly will only say "your private place" or "down there" .. and she is 36 years old!!!! There are certainly some terms that I prefer over others and some I find less appealing (not a big fan of "tw*t"). Generally anything goes for me ... I hate the idea of words making me uncomfortable and long ago shook those feelings.
