I will say that it is hard, living here in the middle of nowhere, to look at the globe, and think of any point in England being more than a half an hour's drive to any other point. Must be the traffic...

As a Leninist who follows the philosophy of revolutionary defeatism, I am not too depressed.

In fact......

(first I should add that I break the political line when England play Germany - it is the only fixture that makes me patriotic - I hate the krauts lol)

I was very worried that the final might be ENgland v Germany - it would have given me great problems - I would have to have hoped to see "us" thrash "the Hun" but then on the other hand I would not have wanted the nauseating sight of Brits celebrating WC victory.

All those fears are now rendered obsolete.
