The Magdalene Sisters, by Peter Mullan. About laundries run by nuns in Ireland and staffed by "fallen women" who were used as slave-labour. Women who had children out of wedlock, or were raped, or were considered just "too pretty" and bound for trouble. It was disgusting and disturbing and all too horribly true. Excellently done, not at all sensational; it's power came from the matter-of-factness of it all.

The Longest Yard...Adam Sandler and Burt Reynolds.
it's the remake of the original Burt Reynolds movie. I normally do not like remakes and avoid them. But my date wanted to see it so I conceded... and am glad I did. It's one remake that was worth seeing
