As we were riding home this evening we were stopped at a traffic light when another bike came up beside us in the other lane. I glanced at it then looked ahead until my wife leaned forward and told me to get a look at the bike beside us.
This time when I looked I noticed a couple of things. The first was the bike was a twin to mine. (Not a really common bike any more so it was neat to see another one being ridden.) The other thing of note was the rider. A younger good looking Eurasian Woman wearing a 3/4 helmet, glasses, vest, jeans and boots. (I don't think she had anything on under the vest but I could be wrong.)
Now if I wasn't married I think I would have followed her home.
Well when the light changed we both cranked on the throttle and bombed out of there. We were having fun and I could see her glancing over and smiling at us. We pulled up to the next light, only this time we were sharing a lane. The three of us chatted over the low rumble of the bikes as we waited for the light to change. (I think Florida has some of the longest lights in the U.S.) As we chatted several cars came up around us.
This time when the lights changed we dropped the hammer and bombed out of there accompanied by this odd screaming sound. Out of the corner of my eye I could see her mimicing my looking down at the engine even as we backed off the throttle. The noise stopped so we got back on the throttles and headed out of there. Several miles of clean and quiet riding later we were at yet another stop light. I asked her if her bike was okay even as she asked us the same thing. Both bikes seemed to be running fine so we shrugged it off as the cars again came up to us.
Again when the lights changed we rolled on the throttle and again we heard that odd screaming sound. This time I happened to glance in my mirrors and see a car behind us with it's back end sliding. Now I knew what that sound was. When we had some clear road I waved her up and called across about what I had seen. She smiled and thanked me as she had been getting worried. (The guy must have been running some hard tires and spinning them when he punched it.)
Soon after this she peeled off to head for her home and we went on our way. She had told us that she rode that route quite often so we may just see her again.
