What do you say?

Mournful Sept. 11th... Defently not happy Sept. 11th.... What are we supposed to say to each other on a day like today?

I say nothing... it's another day with rememberances kept to myself since I really dont know what else to say.

What do you say?

I dont think there are words to encompass the feelings I have today. My father died back in Feb, and I miss him so much. It was a very sudden and unexpected thing. I can only imagine the pain and suffering that others are feeling. My heart goes out to each and every one of those that have experienced loss over the last year.

I say do whatever makes you feel better without worrying about the ramifications of what others may think. If you want to celebrate this anniversary knowing that the free world will not back down from the face of terrorism, DO IT. If you want to mourn for all those that have been lost since that tragic day, DO IT. I say deal with it in your own way and not be persuaded by others, but just do what feels right in your heart.

Today I'm celebrating that I live in the free world and thanking everyone who gave their lives to give me the freedom to live this way.

And what is wrong with saying what one normally says?

Not a thing. Remembrance can be silent.

I say that my thoughts are with everyone around the world affected by terrorism.

I say my prayers are with those that need them today.

Very nicely put!!

I'm gonna try... I don't care who you are, there's something missing from your soul if you aren't personally affected, and it's the same thing that allows someone to commit an act like this in the first place. Compassion for starters, and a general reverance for life.

When a child is raped and murdered here, I don't hear anyone screaming that it happens in other cultures all the time so we should just buck-up, and I feel just as hurt, frustrated, helpless and angry when I hear about it happening somewhere else. What's the difference?

Building - Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Upon the wreckage of thy yesterday
Design thy structure of tomorrow. Lay
Strong corner-stones of purpose, and prepare
Great blocks of wisdom cut from past despair.
Shape mighty pillars of resolve, to set
Deep in the tear-wet mortar of regret.
Believe in God- in thine own self believe,
All thou hast hoped for thouse shalt yet achieve.

Saytur, I couldnt agree more. This country and this world need MORE compasssion. Its sad that it took something like the terrorist act to bring so many hearts out of their cold icey bondage. Its sad that we have so many sickos out there that get their jollies by cruelty, inhumanity, evil, and greed.

I guess the best way to put it, is like that wonderful song from the 70's, WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW...IS LOVE, SWEET LOVE, NOTHING BETTER THAN I CAN THINK OF.

Our oldest will be 13 in Dec and the baby will be 2 in Oct. From birth we have taught them to be kind hearted and to think of how the other person will feel at the words that come out of their mouths.

It all starts at home!! Dont hand me that garbage about society not treating everyone fairly. We all have a part in this world, and how we work that and treat others is all that REALLY TRULY matters!!

Random acts of KINDNESS NEVER HURT ANYONE!!!!!!!

I was watching the news early this morning, I could not stop crying. Seeing the site where the Twin Towers once stood. Reading the paper this morning. Poems that children wrote, as young as 8 years old. Wondering why their mommy or daddy are not home with them, to tuck them in bed. My heart goes out for all those little children, parents, friends, spouses. Please say a prayer for all them today. Hold on to YOUR loves ones, love them as you have never loved them before. And also remember those who were left behind.

Love
GE
