No one talks about the PIGS (Portugal, Ireland, Greece, and Spain) defaulting on the billions of Pounds they borrowed. Till now Angela Merkel bailed Greece out when they spoke of default, but no more.

"Borrowed" is a misnomer.
The right way to put it is "took from them".

All that money came with strings attached: you have to do this and that if I'm gonna give you the money. Things that, in the long run, would have enriched the Banks or would have destroyed the country's infrastructure and so on.

It's not the laypeople's fault that their politicians are corrupt and made those deals.

Its always the peoples' problem when their leaders are corrupt.

I assume youre Spanish or Italian, two places I spent time in many years ago. They rank Spain, Italy, and America in my esteem. Greece can kiss my ass, as can Ireland. Three of my grandchildren are half Portugese.

Franco conquered Spain after the socialists conquered the monarchy then ruined the economy. I was impressed with Franco's rule. You couldn't riot or muirder or run thru the streets naked, but it was safe to walk the streets day or nite.
