Congrats Shang!

I know I would continue to write even without the audience, but damn it does feel good to be appreciated eh?

Amen! Thanks, Bel.

Unintentional. I half-remembered (and probably mis-remembered) the honorific of "Meer" from the books of Andre Norton, who invented the Salariki race. Her name was just one of those names that comes to you entire and feels right.
I'm oddly glad that it was unintentional. I think because you're right, her name does feel right. I would've been disappointed if it was simply a play on words.

congrats, horsey

i see you're starting to corner the market.

as to 'will', i'm always amazed at your ability to knock off 30,000 words of near flawless prose, esp. while posting thousand word treatise-segments on conservative social policy!

Thanks, Pure. One has to have one's little hobbies. And the compliments on the prose are most kind.

If it's any consolation, I really am a dyed-in-the-wool non-party person. When my father and I talk social policy, I dig into his conservative agenda with equal gusto. I have priorities which are coherent to me, but which often place me in different camps on different issues. You just hear me on the conservative side more often because in this forum the liberal side gets the most airing and therefore is more likely to touch ideas with which I disagree. When we're talking child care support, education funding, tax burden, environment, animal rights, freedom of the press, second amendment debates or (surprise!) gender roles, you'll find me pretty solidly in the liberal camp. I promise. ;)

Did you just apologize for being non-partisan? Or is it my sleepy pills again? :D

*chuckle*

Actually, I was just a little uncomfortable being a "conservative." I think it's one of the great universal truths that no one wants to grow up to be his or her father. ;) So I was aiming back toward the "non-partisan." It's where the horsey is comfortable.

The briar patch of politics. *nods sagely*

It is an inspiring and well deserved sight to great my morning, well deserved Shanglan :rose:

*hugs and snuggles* Way to go Horsey one...Well done indeed! Now is a chance for me to tell youthat I adore you *grins*

Thanks again, all. All praise (and dispraise) can only truly be valued according to the source ... I'm awfully grateful, for I can't think of opinions I value more highly.

Just wanted to add a word of apology, actually. This probably looks like a brag thread now, and that's giving me a little embarassment. I actually started it through startled amazement, because the story leapt up from a 4.85 to a 4.94 in the course of a day with only two votes. I guess that some sort of voting sweep was responsible, but it completely threw me, especially when it had been out for months. It was astonishment that prompted the post rather than self-glorification - promise.

And most sincere warm affection to all who posted :)

I'm dropping in a little late on this thread, but wanted to extend my congrats!! :D

***Don't apologize, Shang, you're exited and have every right to be. Revel in it. :D

PR as cordial, and yet in you face as yours needs response ;). I am so happy for you, Shanglan. I have not read Meer, yet know as always - know - that you are fine in your writing ( fine in eloquence and detail). I look forward when I have a moment to immerse in, and embrace your world, to read this story.

Still, what is beautiful most is your happiness over it, and I can't surpass that in anything I say, yet I can identify: I agree, I love everything, too :D

Much preferable to unadulterated reality. Is there no end to the goosey goodness?
Who knew they made rose colored glasses to fit the equine face? :rose:

No apologies for this thread, horsey. As Charley put it so well, your happiness is simply beautiful.
