Does anyone know what on earth is going on that's keeping literotica so FREAKING SLOW with new stories? It's driving me CRAZY because I have like 10 stories submitted, they're getting new views from the posters every day, but they AREN'T getting posted. What on earth is going on?

I have people emailing ME going "Why don't you have any new stories?" and I'm just like, I have no IDEA. None.

I realize this is a free site, but there is something really weird going on here. And it bothers me. And I wrote in to the info@literotica.com which is where your'e supposed to write to tell them how you think the site could be better, and I haven't gotten a response and nothing's changed. My stories aren't being rejected, they're just not being posted...

I'm in the survivorphile contest you know? How am I supposed to keep up my scores if my stories AREN'T going up? I know I'm not the only one having this problem, but does ANYONE know why?

*hugs*

It's just slow now, that's all. As much as it may be less than perfect for us, like you said, it's a free site, and posting here is as much a pleasure as reading. Wait your turn and chill. The survivor contest? Everyone in it will be suffering the same as you, so don't sweat it so much.

Try to remember that laurel and manu have their own lives, and much as our lives keep us from doing everything we need to in a day, imagine what something in thier lives is like, with how many hundred stories sitting there to be read at any given time, and how many authors already published whose rights have to be defended from illegal use on other sites, not to mention whatever it is exactly they do for animals. Can't remember exactly what that is... Maybe I'm mistaken about that part altogether.

The point: Appreciate what they've done so far, and are continuing to do, instead of what they aren't quite doing. They're underappreciated around here as it is.

I can't find my stories on the new board, but when I go to my stories list they are there. Check there, and then click the link for your story. Just send links or what have you to your readers, you could also put your page in you sig. My stories are getting votes and comments but they aren't listed. Good luck.

Actually, Dnd, The Reserve is listed on the New Stories section. Saw it there today or yesterday. Unless you meant a different one. I submitted one last week and it still isn't up, but it is listed in my links, and has views (4 last time I checked) that I'm assuming are Laurel and Manu or whoever else might be working with them. It's listed as "pending" which seems to mean I can edit the submission, but not read it on a Lit. formatted page.

Again, patience...

I think most of the frustration is coming from the fact that the slow down was sudden and extreme. For a long while, stories were going up in 3 or so days and now they are taking close to 2 weeks in some instances.

I've heard rumors that Laurel has been away, and that's why it's been so slow, but I don't know if it's true or not. Of course, now it's Earth Day contest time, which means entries are going to get priority and the other stories will take longer. It's just the way things go. For awhile, they post quickly and then it slows down. I know it's frustrating, but we just have to deal with it. I can't imagine how much it must be to maintain a site this large.

Yeha, I saw it there after I posted this, it wasn't on there last night when I chaecked. Thanks QC! Have I ever mentioned how much I like seeing that you have posted? I enjoy your wit.

IS Velvet Revolver a fave band for you? A friend recently introduced me to them, I enjoy it quite a bit.

I had a story take several days. Chill, have a tequila shot on me. The thing is, there may have been a surge in stories. One week it takes 3 days, not many submissions, another week 6 days TONS of submissions. It is also a long weekend. Maybe they are out of town :) :rose: like respecatable people (apparently not me ;) )

A fave? Not really. But they're good, and I took a strong liking to "Fall To Pieces."

There is almost always a slow down after a contest. Laurel expedites contest entries, and by extention, it means a backlog is created. I am sure they are just working through the back log now.

I agree completely, and while I've commented on the recent slowness elsewhere, it wasn't so much a complaint as a question. I too am amazed that things go as quickly as they do most of the time, and was spoiled with everyone else by the previous rapid-fire approval times.

I wouldn't want to wade through all the stuff that gets submitted here non-stop without a break... hell I can't even wallow through my own crap sometimes.

Everybody deserves time off and I think that a lot of the frustration could have been avoided if there had been a message put up on the site announcements saying "Taking a few days off, relax we'll be right back". I think it's the constant checking your submit page that gets people anxious.

I'm happy as a :nana: to be here.

Hey GOLDIE

Hey Goldie BABY!
I know I have 10 pending right now too .... and then there's the fact that our chain schedule got totally F#^$ed!

but that's life we can't change it..... I've had one up and pending for almost 3 weeks now....
but i have a feeling the more we complain the longer OURS may take to post.... and everyone elses might go first! ... get what i mean... they can pass by any story they want to... so .... I guess we need to curb the noise so they'll post our stuff!

I love ya kid... i know it's killing you ... you probably be in second in survivor if all your stuff would post...
and i be up to like 8th i think or better!

It sucks but that's life!
kisses...hang in there!

However long it takes, it's still better than the good-old-bad-old-days when there wasn't a member page you could check for views, when you submitted your stories into a black hole and maybe like a month to two months later, out it pops - posted.
