OK, we've got Mats connected through my wireless and it appears to be fine. Yahoo IM works just fine. Everything looks hunky-dory until she tries to get online through IE:

Forbidden

You were denied access because:

Access denied by access control list.

Anyone have any suggestions? I don't know shit about IE, detest that damned thing. Help!!!! :(

(Oh, and Hi! :D  )

Everytime I have encountered a 403 it means the web page designer/program they used does not like my program / version.

If you can, see if you can get to the site with a differant web browser, or see if you can update your currant browser, or both.

It's every site we've tried so far on her browser. Yahoo, Lit, etc.

I'd love to download Firefox or the regular Mozilla to hers to get rid of IE, but it's all she has so we can't connect to a site to get them. Going to see if I can burn the downloaded file to disc from mine and try that.

Is she directly connected or are you sharing the wireless through a router?

Id you're using a router, you may have to assign an IP to it and change her IE to syync with that ip.

start button

click on RUN

type in cmd

type in: ipconfig /release

when that is done...

type in: ipconfig /renew

close prompt.

if you are running with a router, you might have conflicting ip's. this might solve it or...and... the other thing to try is unplugging the modem (dsl or cable) for several moments...
let us know?

if you have access through a router, it resets the ip address. it helps when there is concurrent use of internet...

*le sigh*

Nope.

Thanks muchly, though.

I knew there was a reason I hated IE. Her connection is fine, it's just the freakin' browser. She'll just have to live with mine for a bit, methinks.

Are you sure? it could be the router blocking her from using the internet. Of just web browsing, by blocking that port.
