What the heck am I doing wrong?

I don't understand this at all. Would someone please go look at my personal ads (here, and here ) and tell me what I am saying wrong?

OK the post on the BDSM personals board did get me in contact with a couple of very nice people who were great resources and very helpful with my questions, but I haven't gotten more interest from people who would be interested in the "getting to know you" phase of the dating game.


So far I've only had one person respond who sounds to be interesting enough to want to meet in person. The rest send me one PM and when I ask about their hobbies, what they like to do, what they are passionate about, etc. (i.e. attempt to get to know them as a friend first, which is important to me) they either don't respond, or respond with an "oh, nothing much."

I also got hit with a lot of PM's after using a "cleavage" shot as my Av for a couple of days, and when I asked the same question of these people it stops them dead in their tracks too (hmmm... it's probably better that way).

Is there any way I can word my ads better to attract more interest from people who would be pleasant to communicate with?

In your second ad you did open up more, which is good. Your first ad is lacking. Sure, you mentioned that you were looking for friends, but for the most part you only stated "is anyone in my area". (More or less. That's not a direct quote. lol)

The more you open up, the more you personalize your ad, the better your chances are for a reply. Don't be afraid to say what you really want, and don't be afraid to be detailed.

If you're looking for friends with whom you could one day be intimate with "if all parties are comfortable with the idea", then say so!

Most importantly, don't give up! I think many of the ads go unnoticed. (Especially if the poster gives up and doesn't "bump" their ad back to the first page.) And some basically turn into an "online only" chat thread. Just be patient and check up on your ads from time to time.
