What The Fuck Do You Know?

The Spring garden is producing plenty of green beans and blueberries thus far. The onions are forming nice bulbs, and the potato plants are producing plenty of spuds. The tomatoes are loaded with blooms. Lemons are about the size of marbles.

Planting corn this week. I have room for 50 stalks. Also transplanted cukes to the ground.

My vision continues to fade away. Its to the point where I gotta hold paper close to my eyes to read. Otherwise the world looks like what you see thru frosted glass. Doing income taxes yesterday was a challenge. No, they don't know what the problem is; I suspect minor strokes in the occipital lobe.

Sorry to read about your eyesight difficulties. Here in the UK, you can usually get some help from public offices if you have lower vision - large text and audio versions of documents. Is there anything like that would help you in the US?

The garden sounds lovely, as ever. I must order the seed potatoes for ours. Everything is slow here; it's still so cold.

Good for your garden. Sorry about your vision.

I have a theory. I wonder if we don't die slowly from minor strokes, as the capillaries and blood vessels wear out. BP readings wont detect brief spikes, as theyre like bears farting in the forest.

Things do shut down, don't they.

Sorry to hear about the vision JB. I can sympathize with ya. I had cataracts in my one good eye a few years ago. They didn't want to operate but i talked them into it.

A good friend of mine who used to be on here finally lost the battle with a detached retina in his one good eye. He's using a voice reader now but it doesn't work to well in the forums. Plus he waited until he couldn't see to try and learn it.

By the way, there is a free one in the UK that is excellent. I'll see if I still have the url to it.

My sympathyand empathy on the vison, JB; maybe minor strokes...we do tend to wear away, a little bit at a time.

Good luck in working out compensatory mechanisms.

Thanks for the concern. I'll be okay till I cant inflate the screen, but the reading of books is doomed, ditto labels. I bought something that looked like pound cake, and it wasn't. Yuck I think it was a yellow pillow.

I'm sorry to hear about your vision problem. You really need to get a second opinion, maybe even a third.

James, you and I don't always(never) get along but you really shouldn't give up. I assure you many doctors are incompetent. Do not trust the word of one doctor or one clinic or one hospital. Contrary to what doctors and republican tell you, malpractice insurance isn't high because of us greedy lawyers, it's high because of doctor incompetent.

I get nervous when youre nice to me.

An old girlfriend, who was diabetic, developed serious vision problems, to the point where she was considered legally blind at the age of 28. She had laser eye surgery done -- it took about three treatments, if I remember correctly -- and although painful, she recovered quickly enough and had her vision restored almost to 20/20. This was around fifteen years ago. I'm sure now the procedure is less painful.

Have they ruled out macular(?)degeneration? If not,
I know they can replace your lenses with synthetic ones, or even put a device in one eye that looks like a miniature telescope. The correction isn't 20/20, but it gets you close enough to function.

Yes. The problem isn't in my eyes. I can function. I cant see details. I can see barns and the sky.

THE BEST AND THE BRIGHTEST has filled my head with plot bunnies I wanna try. I'm starting to think that the government killed JFK and Bobby. David Halberstam never suggests it or alludes to it, but he documents plenty of people the government ruined when unwanted evidence of corruption etc was sent to Congress or the President.

Ayn Rand has an excellent tutorial for plot creation in her HOW TO WRITE FICTION book. The tutorial dissects THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE SAME and LES MISERABLES, and explains how the plots push the stories and characters along.

ARE STELLA AND PILOT BETA MALES?

I read an article about Beta males, and suspect they are.

Keep on kicking, JBJ. I beats the hell out of giving up. And both Stella and Pilot are quite capable of looking after themselves. :)

Almost anytime now I expect STELLA to invent a new alt to fuck with me some more.

If you think Stella needs an alt to fuck with you then you know nothing about Stella. Sometimes she fucks with you and you don't even realize it. Right over your head.

Another Beta Male has entered the building with his man-bag.
