the queens jubilee across the globe

will g.bush be showing his interest and care of our country by throwing a bash for our dear monarchy

I doubt the US will care or pay much attention if they do care...

Countries like Australia and Canada are more likley to mark the jubilee with special events.

aparently tho there is 1880 beackons being lit all over the world inc u.s.a to mark her success

We have had little to do with the monarchy since we kicked out the redcoats.

I knew nothing about it till last week when I read about the commercial sponsorship for it. I remember her last one. I had a wild time in London. Some of the people I was with then are dead now, but they seemed to enjoy it too.

I'm leaving for Paris on Sunday. When is the big do?

weekend after next. two days bank holiday for everyone apart from the doctors, nurses, teachers (conveniently in their half term i do think) and 999 services

Sure.

If someone tells him which one it is....

"...to mark her success"? Well, if you call staying alive for 50 years and presiding over the dismantling of the last remnants of the empire a "success".

Seriously, the Queen is a head of state so there will most likely be an official U.S. presence of some kind--the First Lady, perhaps. Although I was under the impression that even in Britain, there was a good deal less interest this go-round than there was for the Silver Jubilee (which I do recall getting some coverage on American TV).

on the silver jubilee there were many street partys and the whole nation got behind our favorite mother.

i have some ghastly picture of me as a baby wearing a union jack t-shirt with a little crown on. (Oh how times change)

and now most people couldnt give a fuck

there wont be dancing in the streets at all. Many people are boycotting the bank holidays and going to work regardless

if they are desperate they can tape the bbc's unedited 24hr extravaganza

I don't know what you're talking about so I would imagine the press coverage isn't significant in the U.S...

it will be when you all get wind that OZZY OSBOURNE is going to meet the queen

ha ha hope he flips out at totally the wrong time

I only knew there was a jubilee because one of you from that side of the pond told me about it. Not big news here.
