You know that kind of good goosebump feeling. The kind of feeling that makes you feel all engergized and good and just alive.

Here are two songs that have always given me this feeling
They are both songs I have played back when I was in concert band.

THE ASCENSION by Robert W. Smith is the first.

http://www.jwpepper.com/cgi-bin/titleword
There is a real player audio link to the orchestra version here but not the concert version.

THE INFERNO by Robert W. Smith is the second.

http://www.jwpepper.com/cgi-bin/titleword

There is a real audio link for both the concert band and full orchestra here.

Both of these songs are based on Dante's Divine Comedy.

The last song that I have heard only recently is not an orchestra or concert band song but just a good song from the spider-man soundtrack

Chad Kroeger & Josey Scott - "Hero"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am so high, I can hear heaven
I am so high, I can hear heaven
Whoa, but heaven...no, heaven don't hear me

And they say
That a hero could save us
I'm not gonna stand here and wait
I'll hold onto the wings of the eagles
Watch as we all fly away

Someone told me
Love would all save us
But, how can that be
Look what love gave us

A world full of killing
And blood spilling
That world never came

And they say
That a hero could save us
I'm not gonna stand here and wait
I'll hold onto the wings of the eagles
Watch as we all fly away

Now that the world isn't ending
It's love that I'm sending to you
It isn't the love of a hero
And that's why I fear it won't do

And they say
That a hero could save us
I'm not gonna stand here and wait
I'll hold onto the wings of the eagles
Watch as we all fly away

[Repeat 3x]
And they're watching us
They're watching us
As we all fly away

I LOVE THIS SOOONNNNGGGGGGGG!!! I can't stop singing it! Feelin like a hero sweets?

I have so many......in fact, I wont even come close to thinking of all of them.

"Diary" Bread

"We are the world" (from Farm Aid, I think???)

"Love of a lifetime" Firehouse

"Shameless" Garth Brooks

"Butterfly Kisses" (I cannot think of his name)

"How deep is your love?" The BeeGees

"Lovin, Touchin, Squeezin" Journey

"Noboody knows" Kevin Sharp

"What it takes" Aerosmith

"Wasted Time" The Eagles

OKOK....thats enough. I need to go shiver a bit.:)

Don't know the name

The theme song to an old British mini-series, and I'm not exactly sure which one. Either, Brideshead Revisited or To Serve Them All My Days, based on the books by R.E. Delderfield, had the most haunting theme song. I tried to search the net and find out it's name, but couldn't. There's a trumpet solo, of all things, that just really got to me. ALWAYS made me cry when I heard it.

I know, weird. . . But I've never forgotten the tune.

Waltzing Matilda by the Pogues
World Turned Upside Down by Dick Gaughan

and of course

She's Real by Kicking Giant

Wasnt that instrumental version in "The Man From Snowy River"?

Nope...different song entirely, though with the same name.

You need to actually hear the whole song. The instrumentals give it a lot of depth and power.

"Hero" is a great song, LOVE it.

"Set if off" by POD
"Sweetness" by Jimmy Eat World
"Fun Night" by Andrew W.K.
"Angel's Son" by Sevendust
"Now or Never" by Dope
"The Soulforged" by Blind Guardian
"Stairway to Heaven" by Zepplin
"Down Bottom" by the Ruff Ryders
"Another one Bites the Dust" by Queen
"For Boston" by The Dropkick Murphy's

It's an odd combination but it's all that really came to mind.

The Green Fields of France (traditional irish tune...I like the Dave Fury version)

Three Libras - A Perfect Circle

Poor Boy - Split Enz

23 parallel by Vangelis. Fuck music! or the Love Theme form Blade Runner by Vangelis. George Michael's "Father Figure". Shit I think he's gay, all the good one are!

lol..Vangelis, huh? funny, thats my name...well, my greek name, and what everyone in my family besides my sisters call me.

I was in a local record store when i was like 13 with my sister, and i look over, see a Vangelis cd, and go to my sister "What the hell Soph, i cant even have my name anymore, someone's gotta go steal that too?"

LOVE it!

...

"Butterfly Kisses" (I cannot think of his name)
USA For Africa and Bob Carlisle, respectively.

There's a song about my collegiate alma mater that gives me chills every time I hear it. Took me two weeks to find it and download it.

Every song I post on the "Have you ever just wanted to crawl into the lyrics of a song?" thread also does it for me.

TB4p

Sleep - Godspeed You Black Emporer!
Two-Step - Low
Fascination Street - The Cure
Wild Horses - The Sundays
With Or Without You & All I Want Is You - U2
Sweetest Decline - Beth Orton
Better Be Home Soon - Crowded House

Just about ever song John Williams ever composed gives me goose bumps too.

The theme from LOTR sure does.

Rachmoninoff's Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini does it for me...give me any kind of good music and I get goosebumps...but this one brings back some fantastic memories.
