I tend to spritz with a non-aerosol body spray...something light and fresh does me 
I got some Clinique "happy" for Christmas from My dad and Debbie...I wear that when I go to visit them or I am going somewhere special. I love it but i only squirt a little on my wrists and my neck and in my cleavage*L*
I am quite a fan of male type odysprays and colognes as long as they are not heavy and spicy..I prefer lighter scents..Davidof cool water always makes my erm loins quiver...and certain lynx smells do the same thing(my hubby wears them and I love the smell!)
I can't stand it when someone walks past you and their scent lingers for minutes after they're gone and kind of chokes you. I hate when its so strong you begin to taste it on your tongue ...urgh...!
