Yep. I'm lucky in that my spectrum short humans aren't on the extreme end - I don't really have to deal with violence/etc... I explain the oldest by saying he's going to have a long adolescence.Of course, I also used to ask if the oldest really had a spectrum disorder, or was he just raised by a quirky, introverted nerd? lol
I did take issue with the preservatives used in vaccines, but I think they've removed the mercury from most (if not all) at this point - the most common complaint of the autism anti-vaxxers.
I heard something recently about a possible link between Monsanto & the rising rates of autism the other week, but (again) I suspect the concern is so drama-filtered that the message may be lost.
The preservative I'm sure you're referring to called Thimerosal is a mercury derivative which is structured like this on a molecular level:

The 'Hg' you see there is a mercury atom which is what got everybody up in arms about it, but anybody who knows anything about atomic bonding should already see what's wrong with that; mercury by itself and some variants of it when it's carbon-bonded is toxic, yes, but when it's bonded in such a way as in Thimerosal its chemical effects are rendered safe to be ingested and is simply processed by our bodies and converted into a harmless acid.
Consider that when you take pure oxygen and pure hydrogen and combine them they will explode in quite a violent fashion (Think; Hindenburg) but when you bind them together they're an extremely stable compound that our entire existence is predicated off.
In vaccines it was used as an antibacterial agent (You know, those things that stop Strep-B growing in the syringes...) and wasn't phased out because of any danger associated with it, but because more effective antibacterials were developed that are now being used.
