Well, for one, she & Carrey were dating to the point he seemed to setting-up a proposal on some talk show (think Ellen's, but not sure). Then, they split, & his next girl kills herself.

Sounds to me like Jenny's the smarter one.

This does not suggest Jenny McCarthy is smarter than Jim Carrey, and has nothing to do with her vast non knowledge of vaccines.

A misshapen model of an earthworm made out of frozen alcohol built by a mentally deficient rabbit has a higher IQ than Jenny McCarthy.

Jenny, Married a Whalburg, not the I am an A list movie actor, but the Boy Band, Blue Bloods one. Personally, I look at all the risk factors that she had, and how someone came up with the Vaccines did it...

MMR and Varicella are live vaccine.

Nasal flu is live.

Dats bout it.

There's no evidence supporting spacing Vaccines are beneficial. Quite the opposite.

However...

There is a whistleblower with the CDC who claimes (with internal documents to back it up) that the CDC altered data on the safety of some vaccines. Incidences of adverse reactions among certain groups (primarily male African American) during the 15 month vaccine went through the roof when given as a combined shot. Merck (I think it's Merck) owns the vaccine, and refuses to separate the shot into 3 individual doses.

I'm not saying vaccines cause neurological damage, autism, etc. But if the data shows an increased incidence of adverse reactions that can be reduced by changing the delivery or timing of the vaccine, why not do THAT instead of ignoring concerned people/feeding the fearmongering? (The documentary Vaxxed was widely ridiculed as nut job anti-vaccine propaganda, but the movie constantly stressed the importance of a fully vaccinated society. The only issue? Delivery of the vaccine and lack of vaccine testing by the CDC.)

Two of my children reacted to their 15 month shots. One has Aspergers; one regressed verbally for 18 months. I elected to delay vaccines until it no longer made sense to do so (entered public school/increased risk of exposure).

I'm glad they are vaccinated and understand the importance of vaccination as a form of herd immunity, but I disagree with how vaccines are treated as a "do it because the dr says to" vs "if you don't vaccinate you are a horrible person responsible for the destruction of society". Extremists on both sides benefit no one.

Vaccinating the kids against MMR is probably the only time that hubby and I have disagreed completely. And the problem is that there is/was no compromise position - you either do it or you don't.

Hubby's view was they were just childhood illnesses that everyone gets and recovers from with no ill effects (his experience) so why risk an irreversible disability (according to articles in respected media at the time) on a healthy child for such a minor reason.

...except for the kids who didn't get better. Measles is seriously nasty :-/

Sorry about the regression at such an early age. I have a nephew with Aspergers who is now 18 and in college. He is a joy, yet I also have witnessed the frustration on my bro's part.
Thank God my bro and SIL read the same data you did, and got both kids fully vaccinated so they weren't exposed to, and/or a carrier for measles, rubella, etc.

I'm a vaccine extremist. I like to think that in my years of pushing for vaccines that I've helped more people than I've hurt. I'm an advocate. I will continue to be one.

If we are going to cite personal (anecdotal) experience, in my 20 plus years as an RN (with 5 years in Occupational Health, administering ALL vaccines) I have not seen 1 GB, severe allergy etc. I DID give one doc the measles giving him a booster. That was fun.
Luckily he knew it was a risk.

Cutie Mouse, if you have a legitimate link to the altered data on vaccines by the CDC, can you post it here, or PM it to me please? I'm not being facetious. I'm very interested! Thanks.

Don't they do a different schedule in France or some shit? I don't know that the US one is necessarily the best or only. I don't mind variances in scheduling, I do mind the existence of people so self-focused that they truly do not give a fuck if they kill other people. I would love to see rational and thoughtful discussions of the best way to do this, including other industrialized countries' data. Not totally in love with how we do medical guidelines when you think about statins and sugars and fats and look at how they handle cholesterol in the backwaters of Canada where clearly they rely on folk medicine and know nothing.

My take on this is that there's a VAST FUCKING NUMBER of us who are "elderly and immune compromised" and whenever they're talking about us they act like that's one 90 year old man in a million people so, no one sweat anything.

I can be taken out by some unvaxed spawn OR by standing too close to the recently polio vaxed baby of people doing the right thing. Joy!

I have a friend from my youngest (autistic) son's birth group. She delayed her daughters vaccines because there is a history of autism that runs through her family. She and her husband (an RN) did it "just as an added measure." Guess what? Her daughter has autism. There's a family history. Her 3 other kids? So far fine.

My son? I knew something wasn't right before he got any MMR vaccine. It's just something that happens. Is it horrible? Yes. Am I going to take medical advice from Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey now? Fuuuuck no.
I spent 6+ months of the past 14 months getting blamed every which way by my husband for my son being autistic.
He can fuck off and so can anyone else who feels that way.

:(

And the kids who end up deaf and the kids like me who go from perfect vision to myopia so bad I can hardly see past the end of my nose.

But like a lot of parents, particularly new ones, hubby was concerned by the media reports at the time. And my view is usually that, as I dont know how to fly a plane I wouldn't argue with a pilot, I don't argue medical issues with a doctor. And the reports were written by supposedly respected medics.

But I always felt this non vaccination thing was wrong, and luckily the doctor we saw agreed.

Generally hate the world tonight, but I'll likely get over most of it. Good news is, I have a new primary care doc who is much better than the last. Master likely to follow. I so love proactive people!

I don't have kids (that I know of), and I'm not doctor (although I went to school long enough to be one). But if the vast majority of the medical community agrees that vaccines are beneficial, I'm going to pay attention. Or, if someone like Farawyn, who has 20+ years of experience tells me to do something, I'm gonna listen. The best advice is to read as much as you can on the subject, and make your own decisions. Don't let a celebrity or corporation decide the fate of your family.

Good. It's flu shot time and you're getting a big one on that furry blue ass.
Bend over.

Yup.

Vaccinated oldest on schedule - reaction & high functioning Aspie
Vaccinated #2 - worse reaction than the 1st - regression (thank god it eventually reversed), and stopped vaccinating on schedule
Vaccinated #3 (eventually) - no reaction
Vaccinated #4 (eventually) - no reaction
Vaccinated #5 (eventually) - no reaction & high functioning Aspie

It's a numbers game and also depends on genetics and environment. Oldest & youngest also had failure to thrive/challenges with nursing, which may have compromised their neurology early on. Of course, they're also the two with genius level IQs. The one with the worst vaccine reaction? She was also breastfed the longest, and is the only child with a weight issue (breastfeeding is supposed to help prevent obesity).

I support the necessity of vaccination, and understand the important role vaccination plays in society. That does not mean that I don't question the standard operating procedure/follow the money (as I do with most things).

Side rant upcoming.

For Big Anti-Vaxx to get mileage out of that whole "vaccines cause autism" schtick, it's not enough just to distort the facts about what causes autism. They also have to push the idea that autism is just about the worst thing that could happen to your child. Usually that's implicit, but occasionally it's explicit. Some of these people talk as if having an autistic child on a par with losing your baby, maybe worse because you're going to be doomed to spend the rest of your life burdened with some husk of a person who's incapable of love or joy. One person told me that autistic folk are prone to torturing animals.

It's hard to express how harmful that is to autistic people. We are not soulless meat-robots. Yes, some autistic kids will require care their whole life, and I won't downplay how tough that can be for their families, but it's NOT the same as losing a child. There's still a living feeling human being there, and dehumanising them as Big Anti-Vaxx does is very unhelpful..

And most of the supposed recent "epidemic" of autism comes from better diagnosis of people like me who would previously have passed for just a bit eccentric, people who do manage to hold down jobs and find partners. (We often keep pets, too. I cried for weeks after my dogs died, and fuck anybody who tries to tell me otherwise.)

So much of the talk about autistic people isn't for our benefit at all; it's to spare non-autistic people the difficulty of having to deal with our difference. (I remember one of my high school teachers being very offended because I wouldn't make eye contact with him, so I was taught to overcome my instincts and make eye contact; nobody ever suggested that perhaps instead the teacher could learn to cope with the idea that not everybody naturally makes eye contact. And so forth.)

I could rant more, but it's late here and I really should get to bed.

Yep. I'm lucky in that my spectrum short humans aren't on the extreme end - I don't really have to deal with violence/etc... I explain the oldest by saying he's going to have a long adolescence.;) Of course, I also used to ask if the oldest really had a spectrum disorder, or was he just raised by a quirky, introverted nerd? lol

I did take issue with the preservatives used in vaccines, but I think they've removed the mercury from most (if not all) at this point - the most common complaint of the autism anti-vaxxers.

I heard something recently about a possible link between Monsanto & the rising rates of autism the other week, but (again) I suspect the concern is so drama-filtered that the message may be lost. :(

I think, I THINK mercury had been removed from all except the flu. But the amount you would receive in a single flu vaccine is less than what you would get from a can of tuna. Soooo
