For a real romantic time I like "Kind of Blue" or other Miles Davis/john Coltrane from the early sixties.
For a wild fuck I prefer Rock 'n'Roll - Clapton, Hendrix, Bob Seger, Eagles.
For something in-between Fleetwood Mac or Journey work well.

Well, when I was younger Roberta Flack used to get a lot of play during some marathon sessions. Barry White and Luther Vandross were good ones too.

I love heavy rock anyway. Any band that has a strong rhythm is good for me.
And my favorite Band has to be AC/DC, those guys can get my bedposts swaying like a metronome - besides them, Heart, Bad Company or Foreigner.

it changes as others have indicated. At times you want intense and at times you want mellow. I believe in a sense each of us try and match the rhythm of our strokes to the rhythm of the music. At times I have come across a good piece that has an ever changing pattern to it, slow and erotic then speeds up and goes faster until it seems to reach a cresendo only to ebb back down to a slow pulsing beat. Those are the really good ones.
For me it is not a particular group but individual pieces of music that do it. I will admit to having a CD for just such occassions.
