Shamelessly stolen from Reddit, but I thought it might be a good topic here.

Tell us.

chewie. because she's a dog and she looks like a tiny wookie between haircuts.

Ginger. Because he is. A ginger cat.

Don't blame me. Blame my granddaughter.

My pets all passed on last year.

The cat was named Rufus, because one day when he was first with us I was eating breakfast and he put his front paws on my chair to beg. I looked at him and said "Whadda you want, Rufus?" and that was that. I was called Boo or Boo Boo, or Booger more that Rufus.

The first husky, the female, was called Shelby when we got her from the Humane Society. The Ex and I didn't like that name, and wanted to change it. Briefly I called her Wilma, but that didn't stick. She adored me (and I her), and she would follow me where I went i the house. I could even weave and she would follow. I started calling her Shadow, because she was my shadow.

The male husky had been the neighbors (long story) and he had an all white face, so he was named Clown. It worked on many levels.

My dog passed away almost 2 years ago, adopted her from the pound as a puppy. She looked like a rat terrier or fiest. Anyways, her nickname was Boog, short for booger snatcher, because she loved to lick faces and would often stick her tongue up your nose.

We didn't name our other cats.

Our eldest daughter gave us Hetty when she moved into a second floor flat. Hetty was called Henry at the time. We were dubious and the first visit to the vet for a check up confirmed our suspicions. Henry was a neutered female, promptly renamed on the vet's records as Henrietta, or Hetty for short.

Our other cat is Morgan. He used to belong to neighbours, shift workers in the health service, who also had a very small dog, so couldn't have a cat flap that the dog could get out of. Morgan found that we did have a cat flap and 24 hour cat food so he moved in, visiting his old home daily for handouts if they were around. He is called Morgan because he was given by the neighbour's sister who lives in Wales. His full name is Morgan the Meow because he is very noisy.

Meow Ze Dong would be the best name for a cat!

"Chairman Meow, why are you so lazy?"

my new Parrots name is

OGGY

yaps all day n night

makes NO sense at all:D

Spartacus because he was a purse puppy and it was supposed to be ironic.

...then he kept growing. And kept growing. And now it makes sense. He's a fucking gladiator.

Captain Morgan was already named when we fostered him, but I decided to keep it because he looks like a fucking Captain. And we just call him "Captain" we never really say "Morgan". So I do it as if I'm on Star Trek.

The gf's dog has a stupid fucking name. I wanted to name him Carlos, after perfect, sexy Carlos from Welcome to Night Vale but we wound up not doing that because she's a bitch.

Weird that we both have male cats named Morgan. Not only is it a girl's name, it's an uncommon name.

winnie she is a she but i wanted to name her Whinchester, after the rifle

Bowie, my adorable kitty. He has a hazel eye, and a blue eye so I named him after David Bowie, who I had an insane crush on as a youngster.
