What is your favorite

Very cool thread, KC..

My favorite holiday tradition is the Christmas Eve service at my dad's church. It's also known as the "not quite midnight communion" service. It starts at 9 this year; and it usually wraps up about 1230 ish. It's not a dressy uppy sort of thing; people are relaxed, dressed in a range from casual to sort of dressy. There's lots of fun stuff going on. Coolest things, (for me anyways) is that any one who's sung in the choir ever is welcome to come be in the choir that night. It's pretty funny, we meet at 8 pm-ish, run through a few songs, assign solos and duets and all that at random. Candy canes and such are passed around. It's just a really cool service.

Holiday dinner is potluck. We never have any planned menu; mum makes a turkey and everyone brings whatever they want.

Holiday tunes.. Oh come, Oh come, Emmanuel, and the Huron Carol for church tunes, and then Have yourself a merry little Christmas.

Holiday dessert, a half slice of apple pie and a half slice of pumpkin pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Cartoon wise, It's a Charlie Brown Christmas.

Decorations. gingerbread houses. I hate gingerbread actually, but my mum and I, (with the nieces and nephews now, too) make a gingerbread house and an imitation one, that's made of sugar cookie dough.

Three things that I want. Tough question! First thing, for y and c to have a happy ending, to be together in England and live happily ever after. Second thing, to meet all the cool folks I've "met" recently. Third wish, someone else can have it, or I'll save it for later.
