What is the worst comment you've ever gotten?

Worst can mean many things- a comment that made you feel bad, feel angry, or silly, or a comment so oddly written that you just lol'ed and wondered if the comment was actually for your story.
Give us your worst!

The weirdest I've gotten on stories is one that claimed two male characters, very focused on sex with females, very dominant, lots of sexual activity... were actually gay. In the end I deleted that guy's set of comments because they were just weird and seemed utterly out of touch with any possible reality.

The ones I found most annoying were the people who decided that my princess in The Captured Princess absolutely had to emerge triumphant over her oppressors, even though it was obvious from page one that she was an inexperienced young girl taken prisoner by experienced and ruthless people with unchecked political power, access to advanced technology and a familiarity with torture. It was obvious she'd never survive unaided - and in fact barely escaped with her life, after given a lot of help. People, mostly women readers, were furious; apparently if you're a princess, you automatically get a pony, a tiara, and if anyone so much as insults you, you get to see them hanged.

A set of comments that I think was most interesting was a set from the same reader, who read one of my stories and accused me of being a psychopathic woman hater, and then read my Angelwatch and publically apologized for all her previous comments. It's a useful reminder that some people here think you are your main character - maybe for some authors, that really is the case.

The weirdest comments ever directed to me, though, were in this forum.

"Quit while you're behind"

That one has stuck with me for a few years.

Oh I got railed on when I posted a story in the Loving Wives category. I hadn't been here long enough (or read any stories in that category) to know the underlying meaning of the category. I wrote a story about something a loving wife did for her husband. Just the two of them were in the story. No unfaithfulness. No cuckold business. Just a gesture on the part of the wife to the husband.

You would have thought that I had bludgeoned a baby seal, harvested Unicorn horns for sport, or was the Typhoid Mary of the Zika virus.

My stories don't usually get a lot of comments. Of the comments I get, most are constructive if not positive, and most of them are not addressed to me, but addressed rather generally to other readers.

Pretty mild by Lit standards:

Boring, redundant and it would have been nice if you included the "This is another slow-moving chapter with more talk than sex." comment in the description. reads like a childs book!

I doubt I can come up with the worst comment I've received on a story because the worst comment would have been a personal jab at me, not really on the story, and I'm sure I deleted it.

This is amazing. I would print that, frame it, and hang it on a wall where I could see it while working. LOL

Reminds me of John Mulaney's harshest, most eloquent heckler story, the one where he was performing in a trailer park and a guy interrupted him in a very genteel backwoods accent: "Excuse me, sir. I think I speak for all of us when I say that we would enjoy silence more than the sound of your voice."

Not especially ‘bad’, but amusing:

‘If I could write as well as you obviously can, I wouldn’t waste my time writing shit like this.’

Although it was obviously OK for the reader to read ‘shit like this.’

:)

Someone criticized told me that my story was unrealistic and silly.

That statement is left by several anonymous posters. It usually means they didn't notice the category before reading.

But there are anonymous posters who leave abusive comments far worse than anything quoted in this thread so far. They try to be as offensive as possible and to rubbish any author who doesn't write their particular type of story - usually they want 'abuse/kill the bitch' - and any story that suggests that women might be intelligent or equal, or horror! better than the male character - is an insult to anon.

I wrote a LW story, and that got a lot of hate. Some death threats. One I remember was about how anyone who found the story hot needed to be found dead in an alley. Not sure why the alley was important. I don't care much about those comments though, and don't remove them. Literotica do that eventually anyway.

The same story also got a few comments about how they thought the heroine was unsympathetic, even people who liked the story. That stuck actually, because all I was doing was trying to make her human, and not unrealistically perfect. Hard to tell how other picks up on things like that. I think it's kind of my best story, but it's got the lowest vote score.

Never been hated enough for death threats, thank God. Worst comment was also from LW from a comment I had made on my own story where the guy tried to psycho-analyze me. He was so cold, I didn't bother to respond.

I'm a bit different, because I'm one of the faction of authors that thinks the over the top abusive ones are funny. That's a combination of my nature which is sticks and stones and the fact in RI and a lot of New England sarcasm is an art form, its hard to insult people from around here.

The only ones that get a knee jerk reaction from me is the ones calling something out in the story, but they're wrong because it was explained meaning they either did not read the whole thing or missed that part and they're yammering away about it, so I guess comments like that where you know they didn't read it can bug me a little.

Worst comment-two comments-have been deleted. The ones that said it was too bad my wife didn't die from cancer. The second one added that after she did I should have committed suicide.

I'm fairly certain I know who they were from and I guess if I were them, I'd be that nasty to, life sucks when you're that pathetic.

I get tons of views to my stories. Rarely, will people ever comment let alone vote on my stories:(

Pretty much the case for all of us. LW gets the most comments, but ironically those are the ones you usually don't want.

But even on stories I have over a hundred comments on there's hundreds of thousands of views and we don't know how many views are legit reads, but the comments are fraction of the votes and we have to assume the voters read for the most part

The worse comment I ever got was talking about how I should be killed.

I no longer remember which story it was, and I deleted the comment, so don't have the exact wording anymore.

There was one other that may have been worse, but it was deleted by Laurel before I saw it.

If laurel deleted it, it may have been just spam. But know way to ever know.

I've gotten some beauts in private feedback all from a couple of LW stories threatening to come to RI(from my bio) and 'rape' me. Because for some reason they think I'm a woman.

It would be hilarious for one of them to actually show up. Think they might be in for a rude awakening....

And two hundred pound German Shepherds

A guy read one of my stories, told me in a pm I was "dead inside". We didnt have many PMs after that.

I've had spam comments advertising Via**Gra and Ci**Alis, or fake passports.

They were usually deleted by 'admin' almost as soon as I had read them.
