What is the difference betwen a story in the novel/novella category as opposed to a multi-chapter story in any of the other genres?

scriptordelecto said:I agree with Tx. More and more people are doing the chapter thing these days, myself included. I think it's because the Novels/Novellas category can be very intimidating to readers, while releasing a chapter at a time in the appropriate category in serial fashion builds a broader reader base. Timed correctly, the chapters keep the reader on edge, and coming back for more. At least that's why I do it. *shrugs*

Then I got busy and waited six months before posting anymore chapters and the audience/interest in the story had pretty much dissapeared.
As for the novels/novellas category it seems pretty pointless because you can't really tell what the specific genre of the story is. Whether it be fantasy/Romance..etc. All you know is, it's going to be long.

I have no idea how this would be done, but it ought to be <nods firmly>

For Love or Money, Ch.01
For those who are interested. Should I try re-submitting it to another cat or just continue submitting them to this cat...?

Hallowed Eve said:When the category was created, it was meant as a location for longer stories on Lit.
Weird Harold said:The novels and novellas was also created as a place for completed long stories that don't fit in any other single category.
As originally concieved, there should be no stories in N&N that are "to be continued" or never-ending "soap opera" style series.
