For me the AH is a home away from home (or within my home, if you prefer). I've found the strength I've needed to make it through some very tough times here. I've learned a lot and grown as an author, because of the AH.

I haven't spent as much time here in the last year as I did in my first few months, so there are times when I feel out of place, but I still come here for solace.

Some of the people I hung out with either aren't here anymore, or they only put in a rare appearance, and that makes me sad.

I've come to a point in my life where I must keep most of my thoughts and feelings under wraps, so that makes me feel like an outsider. I want to rant and rave about the things that are happening, and get the comfort I so desperately need, that I KNOW I would find here, but I can't.

I love the AH and I don't know where I would be without it.

I must have a need for this kind of environment. Before AH, it was a bar where I knew all the people that worked there, a lot of the regulars etc.

This is an online bar, only cheaper, and without the headaches the next day.

The conversations are the same, from politics and stupid stuff to high brow and serious.

There is flirting, real life hookups, casual hookups, people come, people go.

Most other online stuff like forums and such have been disappointing, for some reason I've had the feeling I was intruding on a private social gathering.
Lit is far and above the #1 site/place/forum that I feel most comfortable expressing my most true self.
