As some of you may remember, I like to draw dolls in PaintShopPro. I'm a member of a doll community called Realm of the Forbidden, and over there, I've promised to draw a bondage doll for a girl. Now, she has asked me to draw "cut-away basques", and my dictionary is failing me. What's "basques"?

a basque is often more than just a bodice - sometimes includes suspender straps to hold stockings.

Although from what I have read, you don't want to make the mistake of calling a Basque, a Spaniard or a Frenchperson.

Apparently they get quite perturbed by this.

hiya

yep a basque is an all in one undergarment, and yes they often include suspenders as well as a laced bodice. this would be laced in criss-cross pattern, either front or back depending on design.
a cut away can be complete boob exposure, or in the case of an item, ahem!!, a friend has , just the nipples and lobes sticking out of cut out's, also the belly piece cut out to expose the navel.

I've made a big boo-boo, then. I drew a bodice with one of the shoulder straps broken and hanging down.
