I make this yummy homemade dark hot chocolate first you get a pot just medium or small get you some milk or heavy cream put it in the pot and stir it I add some vanilla extract and cinnamon then I take some dark chocolate chips stir that until it is melted and hot pour it in a cup and enjoy I have to have that every night before bed it really does relax me

Not a food, but I have come to enjoy making covers for my e-books.

Many find it tedious to look through thousands of photos, but I find it relaxing and have gotten to where I make them for stories I haven't even written yet.

Just a fun and actually productive way to pass some downtime.

I make music when someone inspires me. It hasn't happened often. But lately, it happens a lot.

I'm a woodcarver and when I get in the mood the wood flies and when the figure is completed instead of feeling worn out I am entirely relaxed. Wish this would happen more often than it does bur RL gets in the way.

I enjoy leatherworking: it's like sewing but you get to use a hammer. Had my stuff in storage for years but I got it out recently and made a slip-cover for my new laptop. Looks good, much cheaper than buying one*.

*until you start adding up tool costs...

I make nothing. I used to be so creative, then I made kids and between work and kids I'm lucky if I have time to make the bed. Fuck, now I'm going to go eat some of that chocolate you mentioned.

You also make some pretty amazing self portraits...had my husband and I cracking up yesterday.

Using my imagination for creating whatever I want/need professionally. It keeps you going.

I love making music and special meals for family and friends. I'm exceptional with one of these and would like to be better with the other, but love doing both.

I also love making my kids smile and laugh. My heart knows no greater joy.

And I love making those little happy swells of moisture appear along my wife's bottom eyelid, or in the corner of her eyes, happy-stuff that sometimes starts down her cheeks because of some small gesture, or something I said at just the exact right time that makes her feel loved, and the happiest she could ever be.

Nice thread. I think I'll start doing more of all of the above.

Hm, back at summer camp, I built a roulette wheel from scratch for a Casino Night that was really fun to do. I had a great time!

Aww Emerson, that's the sweetest thing I've read in a long while. They're all very lucky to have you!

My daughter is my greatest joy. There is no better sound in the world than hearing her laugh!

My job (well before I decided to take time off and put my life into order) was in precision metal machining. So all I did all day was make stuff! Beats working in a cubicle or having to wear a tie every day, it actually is very rewarding taking raw material and turning it into something useful.

Start with steel that comes in looking like this:

Planning & programming machining cells that look like this:

And cut metal until finished parts come out looking like this:

Occasionally get a letter from a happy customer with pictures of your pieces in far flung parts of the globe, like this:

Sauce and meatballs. So grateful my mother paid attention to what my great grandmother was doing in the kitchen.

oh meatloaf is good, too....put some mozzerella in there, delicious.

It doesn't seem to help to find the proper forum.

I make very awesome cheddar scalloped potatoes. :D

Actually, I'm pretty good at cooking in general. I enjoy making homecooked meals. It has kinda spoiled me for going out to eat in a restaurant, because usually I know I could make the meal better, and cheaper.

I guess I should really STFU about that though because now my husband never takes me out anymore. :(

Oh, I used to build guitar amps and pedals too. I did a pretty decent job, I think. But that was when I was in college and living at home and had time and space to do it.
