What is sexy about a straitjacket?

I've always liked the idea of being in a straitjacket.

When I was little I had a spate of accidents where I ended up needing stitches in my forehead. It happened three times in just a few years before grade school. The doctor strapped me into a restraint called a 'papoose board', a stiff board with Velcro straps which he wrapped around my body, completely imobilizing me while he cleaned my wound and stitched it closed with needle and thread.

I remember the doctor telling me, "this is what astronauts use to strap into their capsules." That stuck in my mind for years. Whenever I saw a rocket launch I imagined the astronauts helplessly bound in their seats, wondering how they could get out for a moon walk. I'd lie in my bed imagining being an astronaut, bound up by the NASA ground crews.

Growing up I always liked tie-up games and played with ropes with many different friends, often in groups of three or more. I loved it when I was able to escape after a long struggle.

As an adult I have tried on a strait jacket on a few occasions, most recently at Mr. S Leather in San Francisco. I'd gone in alone and asked a friendly clerk of I could try one on. They strapped me in and invited me to wander around the store for a while. It was amazing, a fantasy come true. I especially enjoyed being checked out by several other store patrons. One guy in particular couldn't keep his eyes off me, several others commented on how good I looked and how it was nice to see me that way.

There is something about being secured, about being under someone else's control that feels coddling and comforting to me, there is part that is like giving myself a big hug.

There is also another part that is just sex. Being tied with tight straps between my legs is very erotic. Just thinking about it turns me on. I've only ever tried a few straitjackets on but I have spent a lot of time fantasizing about it.

My favorite fantasy now would be:

Black leather with silver hardware. A collar with a D-ring. Long tapering sleeves ending in long leather straps that buckle together behind me. The front of the jacket is like a leotard and tapers down to go between my legs. In back it comes up as a single strap to fasten in a large buckle in the middle of my back.

Get all tied in while someone plays with me, wraps belts around my legs in a frog-tie position, undoes my crotch strap to provide access for some friendly torment before strapping me back up with inserted toys.

<Sigh>

What do you like about straitjackets?

I like that you spelled it correctly! So many get it wrong.

As for being sexy, umm, sorry but no. I don't get that kink. But that's cool. We all have our own tastes.

The 'one time' that it was explained to me about this jacket could be a very MANDATORY,
piece of my future wardrobe, for possibly a flexibly, extended amount of time---, I didn't think then or now that there was anything sexy about it .
But that's just me.

Oh the powerful magic of a safe word!

I'm sure there are some whose kink is so strong that they may be able to enjoy a fully involuntary experience, but that is not me!

Wouldn't be sexy for me! I like certain kinds of restraints but I don't think I'd like that!

My daughter was put on a papoose board at one year old and it caused her to freak! She didn't like to be restrained in any way except for a seat belt and sometimes not even that!

I like that you spelled it correctly! So many get it wrong.

Apparently, the OP got it wrong too, insisting on incorrectly spelling straitjacket as two separate words.

"straitjacket" (as one word) is the commonly accepted spelling.

"strait-jacket" (one word, hyphenated) is a less common, acceptable alternate spelling.

I found no dictionary -- authoritative or otherwise -- that listed "strait jacket" (two words) as an acceptable alternate spelling.

Ooh, sorry sir. What is my punishment?

early on in my relationship with my wife, I discovered her 'terror' of restraints... she flipped out so badly she came as close to a psychotic break as I've ever seen.

Better have funeral arrangements made for yourself if anyone even thinks of any kinds of restraints for me. This girl will NOT be restrained in any way shape or form, EVER! Just sayin....lol

Totally don't get this thread. Lol

That's funny. The first time I saw a performer doing a straitjacket escape act I was titilated. There was something about it that flipped a switch in me. It was at the Renaissance Faire when is was in 3rd grade.

It seemed so innate I just figured everyone felt the same about it. Lol. Kid logic.

*thanks for the spelling lesson! I fixed it. :)
