What is Love??

Love is
being happy for the other person
when they are happy
being sad for the person
when they are sad
being together in good times
and being together in bad times
Love is the source of strength

Love is
being honest with yourself at all times
being honest with the other person at all times
telling, listening, respecting the truth
and never pretending
Love is the source of reality

Love is
an understanding so complete that
you feel as if you are a part
of the other person
accepting the other person
just the way they are
and not trying to change them
to be something else
Love is the source of unity

Love is
the freedom to pursue your own desires
while sharing your experiences
with the other person
the growth of one individual alongside of
and together with the growth
of another individual
Love is the source of success

Love is
the excitement of planning things together
the excitement of doing things together
Love is the source of the future

Love is
the fury of the storm
the calm in the rainbow
Love is the source of passion

Love is
giving and taking in a daily situation
being patient with each other's
needs and desires
Love is the source of sharing

Love is
knowing that the other person
will always be with you
regardless of what happens
missing the other person when they are away
but remaining near in heart at all times
Love is the source of security

To me love is Mesmerizing..

Mesmerized by Your Love

Since you came into my life
and opened your world to me
I've seen the crashing of the ocean waves
as they work their magic over the rugged rocks
Water, first strong and powerful
engulfing the rocks,
then gently cascading into ripples as if caressing them

And I am mesmerized by the beauty

As we stand, hand in hand
gazing from the shore
I suddenly understand how your love has overtaken me
just as the fierce water surrounds the rocks
Your love, first intense and exhilarating
gushed into my heart
then, blanketed me with a calm serenity

And once again, I am mesmerized

I wrote that not long after the first time my husband and I stood on the cliffs over looking the Pacific Ocean. It was an inspiring view and he is an inspiring man.

A poem I wrote

Silent Whispers

Ive listened to my soul cry
Ive held memories of the past
Trembling fear of unworthiness
Shattering words of hate were cast.
Drowning in a world of uncertainty
Feverish hate within my heart,
Never knowing the meaning of love
Denying self worth from the start.
Until you.
Until you came into my life
And showered me with charm,
You took my hand and stole my heart
Protecting it from all harm.
Never judging me by outward realms
But falling so deeply into me.
Gazed into my soul to find
The little girl and set her free.
You have caressed a broken spirit
And made love to my soul.
Gave me back a bit of self love
A part to make me whole.
Silent whispers spoken there
Words of divine wisdom and hope.
Taking me on a journey forever more
Being my strength so I can cope.
Ive never known a love like ours
So free and unselfish, so complete.
I cherish the man that you are
And dream of the day we meet.
I knew I loved you before I met you
As I loved you yesterday and today.
Take my heart into your hands
Feel my love, a love that is here to stay!

I have read that there is no emotion called love that it is ecxitement and a few other feelings combined but that there is not a real emotion for it ..They say sadness and hatred are true emotions ..Maybe you ladies have seen this guy on Oprah he kinda made sense with what he was saying ..I am in love though and the guy can blow it out his ass because there is definitly something there that is a emotion I cannot describe but it goes beyond what he had to say..He also said love fades the fastest of all emotions and that part i di agree with because I have loved only to find out it was not love at all but lust in the end ..Oh well I am happy anyway and so far so good

I think alot of people have been in the same situation as you just stated. We are quick to grasp at the attention others give us and mistake it for love...a powerful love...when really it wasnt.

Being in love now, and knowing that this IS exactly what true love is about...I know that what I thought was or might have been love before, really wasnt. I cant even describe exactly how he makes me feel...how he completes me. I wish you well KS!

Love is getting a cute heart box of strawberries and chocolate dip as far as the check out and then not buying them, as you have realised they contain nuts, your love is allergic to nuts, and so getting elderflower presse which she loves but never buys normally... as my husband just did. Awww, I am smiling with my dimples showing now!
