I hear lots of talk about love. And everyone seems to have a different opinion. Some say love when, in my view, they merely like someone. Some say I like you but really mean I love you.

So...

How you do YOU define love?

Funny you should ask. For the last few months I've been hosting a thread in The Playground called Defining Love. You'll find many pages of answers to your question there. Mine included.

You'll know LOVE when you'll feel it, & see it.
Love is something special to your heart, it knows right away when your in love.

That is not a satisfactory answer.

Define Love.

Love means never having to say... "Does that twenty include the spanking?"

:D

When you host a thread, does that mean you provide the refreshments?

love has no defenition..... :p
unless you check the dectionary.

Which i'm not going to do it FOR YOU, lazy bum.

Hmm...kinda broad....

Love to me is wanting what is best for the other person. seeing their needs before your own, and desiring to fill them. Love is not some pit of the stomach fluttery feeling, though that often goes along with it. It is an action, more than a feeling.

At least, that's how I see it.

I think love is something more all-consuming than "like" and consumes different parts than "lust." :)

I think some people confuse obsession with love.
When truly in love, he/she does not completely consume your life, but rather complements it in such a way as to make you feel more alive, happier, etc.

If your heart skips a beat when he/she enters a room, and you feel a little emptier when they leave it, you are probably in love.

I think "love" is when you meet someone and you feel like you've found a part of yourself you never knew existed. I never felt "complete" before I met my b/f...i know its cliche, but its true.

I think that there are all kinds of love, and most are too great to be defined simply with words.

We've had some refreshing ideas, but every time I try to post a .whiskey or .tequila file Lit bounces it.

I once managed to attach a few of those tiny .hot.dog files but nobody liked them so I stopped.

Don't want to read the whole thread.

Has anybody said..........

Love is like a box of chocolates yet?

:D

I think that lust and infatuation can be part of love.

I think Lust and infatuation are what brings you to the other person in the begining... and gives you time to build the love...

My definition:

Love is when you care more about someone else than yourself.

No. Do you want to stop by and make that claim? ;)

Nah, I'll save it for someone else. It's not fair if I take all the really, really good lines.

:)

That's very generous of you.

Of course, if the chocolates line comes up, some bozo wil want to say, "Loving is as loving does" or some other drivel.

It's not wise to encourage the unoriginal.
