heres what i dont get people calling the media liberal. how can they possibly ever think the media is liberal.

heres an example i saw some guy going off on some ABC reporters on another thread. well inst ABC owned by disney? who the hell would ever accuse disney of being liberal??

then we have NBC which is owned by general westinghouse...hey dont they make weapons. and wouldnt a company that makes weapons be all for war. i mean the more we fight the more weapons we buy the more money they make.

these are just some examples. if anything the truth is becoming less and less liberal and more and more corporate controlled.

So far as television is concerned, viewership is the product produced by the media. This product is then sold to the companies that advertise.

The companies advertise their products to the people watching. Most of the time the advertisements are just nonsense because they appeal to lifestyles and contain relatively little factual information about the product. And people buy based on this appeal.

Meanwhile, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Erosion of the middle class. Autosodomization, capitalist style.

It's all one big commercial. We have to keep it in perspective.

The mainstream media thought it fit to proclaim Bill Clinton a rightious man........... the quotes from the "liberal press" too endless to count. To this day, the mainstream press publishes much more left wing communist seeking trash than can ever be distributed in communist pamphlets in a years' time... all in just one day.

Walt Disney believed in a make-believe world in which everything was always "hunky-dorry"........ that place will be forever called heaven by it's followers........ yet will never be a reality here on this rock.

Yes the National Media is Liberal

Yes the media is liberal, this they admit themselves. In a questionaire "1999" sent to the 9 main anchors for national news, those that answered stated that they were liberal. Also a poll was taken at 22 college campuses nationwide and 95% of the graduating classes that majored in Journalism answered that they had liberal leanings, and when asked why they responded in that way they said, it was the professors that taught the classes that guided them in that direction. So if this is true than yes I have to conclude that it is.

well first of all lets review who owns what...rupert murdoch owns fox, abc, disney owns abc.. i dont know if ted turner is still a major player in cnn or not, but i know he has some say. see where i come from rich white guys usually dont like communism. rich white guys dont usually go around saying "hey lets give up all we have, and be communists." maybe you should look up communism.

now lets review some of walt disneys ideas. 1 dress the way i say. 2. no facial hair 3. live in my super society where i'll decide who is allowed in and out. 4. unions and workers rights are bad

oh and heres another very "liberal" disney idea. see they puch the lawmakers to make laws so when someone gets hurt at one of their parks they get to keep it secret. so the general public has no idea how many people have been hurt there.

Ok - The myth of the liberal media is just that - a myth. If the media is all liberal why are people like Rush Limbaugh, George Will, Mona Charen, William Safire and hundreds of others ever printed or aired?

The fact is that we have a pretty balanced media - no matter what the conservatives want to tell you. Lots of papers are liberal. Lots of other papers are conservative. The writers and reporters and editors and everybody else who works in the media are a mixed lot too. Some of the papers that make real money have liberal editorial pages - the Washington Post and the New York Times. The Wall Street Journal editorial pages, on the other hand, makes John - you have no civil rights - Ashcroft look like Angela Davis.

As has been pointed out, money controls it. Neil Boortz and Rush and all their buddies get air time because advertisers pay for it and people buy the crap the advertisers push.

I'll refrain from my opinions about some conservatives - just remember - the first amendment works for everybody - not just right wing, fundamentalist Christian, flag-waving, tell-me-what-to think-so-I-don't-have-to conservatives.

By the way - I think Neil Boortz is one of the few honest ones on either side - at least he readily admits he's all about entertainment - and that you're stupid if you don't check out the opinions he presents.

And I thank God (or who or whatever caused us to be here) every day that the founding fathers were bright enough to create a Constitution that recognizes the tyranny of the majority is just that and needs to be checked now and then - and that we've been able as a country to live under its rules for as long as we have.
