Black and White that makes pictures look so much better? Is it because you can't see the uneven skin tone? Or is it because it gives the picture more of a artsy type feel?

Black and white photos (and films) have the high contrast and simple palletes that most resemble our dreams.

Black & white pictures are often more dramatic and convey
more feeling.

Colour is good for landscapes and nature.

Now I rarely use colour for portraiture.

If I may that your av has lots of feeling<..>

It definatly adds an "artsy type feel" to that pic. Yummy.

:p

it's not just black and white, it any non warm colour monocromatic image. there is less glare and reflection given off so it's easyer on the eyes. As well as if it's full colour.. that's what we see every day, so when it's monocro, or recoloured it gives our minds a workover and we look longer to see what else is different aloweing the image to sing in.

What they said, but add to it my view that many B&W pics have a moody quality that leads the viewer to a cerebral, emotional response to the photo rather than the more sensory, sexual response a vibrant color photo might engender.

I did not know that DCL. I tell ya, I learn something every day here at lit. It's better than college and a whole lot more fun. :)

I am mostly a color man but I also enjoy B&W for this reason.

Well, I get a sensory, sexual response looking at Mistress's B&W avatar.

Haha! Thanks :p

I love black and white photos though, I could spend a whole day on the net just searching for them. It does create a mood, the different shades and so on.
