Okay those who know me know that I am a sometime guitar player in a band (in addition to my other guitar day job) LOL...

I was handed a song list yesterday of some stuff I needed to learn so I have spent the better part of the day with a perfectionistic bastard trying to play it. The song is Closer
by Nine Inch Nails.

after hearing our fearless leader scream
"I want to fuck you like an animal" for about the umteenth time,
I actually started to pay attention to the words...something I don't really do while playing because I am trying to concentrate.

I can't decide about this song

but the lyrics hit a nerve and I have just enough beer to actually start to like it

LOL..yeah..I know what you mean about THAT song. Couldn't listen to it often but sometimes..I get in that mood. Especially that part that goes..."I wanna feel you from the inside" Mmmm.

closer?

"closer" is really a fantastic song.
It's so fucking awesome.
It's about self-loathing, a subject with which I can really identify.
Due to it's chorus "I want to fuck you like an animal" it gets a reputation as a song about lust, which is really off-base.
Mr. Reznor himself has said that it pisses him off to have people think that it is only about sex, when it is about so much more.
