He has a godfather, which implies Christian baptism, and Hogwarts celebrates the Christian holidays. But unlike a real British public school, Hogwarts has no chapel, and nobody ever talks or even seems to think about Christianity. OTOH, the wizards do not seem to have any pagan religion of their own.

Terry Pratchett once wrote, "Witches didn't believe in gods. It was like believing in the postman."

Only one person is called Lord in Harry Potter series

*knock knock* do you have time to talk about our lord and savior?

What makes you think Hogwarts has no chapel, just because we never saw it dont mean there isnt one,

JK picks her fights with care. To include a chapel might affect foreign book sales. It's the same way she only has a couple of token non-whites because she thinks non-whites can't read anyway.

Good point i never thought of book sales , obviously religion is not a high priority in the wizard world

Hmmm. I would assume that Hogwarts celebrating Christian holidays is probably just to align with the calendar of the muggle world somewhat. Given that we know the deathly hallows exist, there might be some truth to death being an actual entity that could be accounted closest to a deity in the series. I would therefore think that many mages would be polytheistic in some way, since it wouldn’t make since for Death to be the only god.

After seeing this, I went to internet. I read in 7th book there were quotes from bible on tombstones. I don't remember this. And someone also said that when Harry burries his friend, he marks a cross on the grave/ I don't remember this either.

The one that made sense to me was—the Harry Potter world is just like ours. People of several religion mixed together, but christianity being the majority of it
