What is it about a rainy day that....

Kind of new here to LIT and just on cruise control around the site.... Its just a another rain day in Georgia, so if figured why not put this question out to everyone and see ... What is about a rainy day you like?... I like it when it is raining, I seem to sleep so soundly through it....

I just thinking and was just curious to hear other thoughts on what they like about a rainy day... just might be interesting to hear from others or not:D.....

So what do you like about a rainy day?:)

if it is warm and cosy indoors, I enjoy the comfort. Hearing the rain on the windows is almost a balm...:)

Snowy days...and rainy days are always my favorites...

Something about rain though...Always makes me sleep well...and I always feel so quieted and peaceful...I love the thunder too...Love the darkness and lit candles...

It just is...very magical...

Although I prefer the sunshine there's nothing sweeter than a cosy fire/log-burner/whatever being inside when the wind and the rain are lashing down.

There's something wonderfully peaceful about rain hitting vegetation. I listen to Paradigm Shift Radio (some young chap from London, Ontario runs it); they do a meditation session half way through and a recent one was with sound of nature and rain hitting leaves.

Peaceful, cosy, that's how I roll (but possibly need to man up a bit :D) :rose:

I like the white noise of a really heavy rain....it's like silence but not empty silence.

What she said :D

I like not only the noise the rain makes, but also watching the raindrops running down the windowpane...

My favorite vacation ever was spent in a bed & breakfast, a 100-year-old stone barn with a tin roof out in the Texas Hill Country, and it rained most of the time I was there. It was so cozy curled up in the bed in the loft, reading, resting, sleeping and enjoying the steady sound on that tin roof.

I love really loud cracking thunder, then the few spots building into a downpour.
Then when its over going outside to smell the air after its been cleaned.
Tropical rain is nice when the big drops land on leaves, the noise they make as they explode and make lots of little drops.

On the other side the birth of the word bollocks from ones lips at the feeling of rain as you have just finished putting the washing on the line

I walk up behind her, kiss her neck down to her shoulder. Reaching around her to feel the warmth of her breasts..she turns and walks to the bed....afterward..after our souls have melted together and our breathing returns to normal. We can hear the rain, and we slowly start all over...

I love the loamy, earthy smell in the air after a good rain. Better than any perfume.

Love that smell also, seems that smell is stronger after a good summer rain when the suns comes back out.

I think it's dependent on my attitude. If I have a lot to do of something expectat the rain bothers me. Like my sisters wedding was outside, and 200 people got poured on in 20 min and all the food ruined. It cooled off the day though. Everyone remembers the wedding. My sister and I had to pull each other up the hill. We have pictures.

You in a wet bridemaid's dress...I would have liked to see that...;)
