I think I know what a troll is, but I would appreciate a good definition. I would define it as a harmless yet repulsive twisted little fuck. Is this accurate? Let me know. Is there a classification of twisted fuck that is worse the troll? Like an ogre classification? Tell what you think.

A troll is a large, smelly, regenerative humanoid who causes a whole lot of trouble by being annoying, rude, repulsive ect. An ogre is quite a bit larger, has yellowish white skin instead of dark green or brown and is not as smart as a troll.

Care to give her the definition of an orc and a kobold while you're at it?

Trolls the unregistered scum of the universe who come here to usually haress and torment are beloved lit posters... beware they are evil and bite!!! ;)

On a BB a troll is someone who posts either as a guest/unregistered or as a regular user with the intent to hurt someone else.

Something worse is a troll who knows how to hack into your computer.

I'm an admitted troll.

I don't think trolls have the required intelligence to hack a computer system (not that it's all that hard really).

An orc is a humanoid with grey or green skin and large fangs. They are smelly, larger than humans and tend not to be very smart. Their hair is sparse and very thick.

A kobold is a small lizard like creature with a mean disposition. They are tribal, and are moderately dangerous in large groups. Alone they are cowards, and will run from any larger foes.

Orges are typically more violent and humans are a staple in there diet...

Thank you and KM I have not encountered any troll like behavior, but I will be on the look out. Nice to know that ogres are dumb. What the hell is a kobold though. Not in Grimms as far as I know.

Gygax. Pick up anything written by Gary Gygax. He's the leading authority on such creatures. :p

It's just a small lizard like creature...vaguely humanoid. About 3-4ft tall.

Kobolds

I only know about the Norse kobolds they are harmless humanoid beings. There are others I read about like one who would clean all your pots and jugs in your basement if you left him a jug of beer every day.

Trolls are those little dolls with jewels in their belly buttons..... they had outrageous hair that people styled by blowing.

The only thing worse then the troll phase are pokemon.

The end

Lord Emu, I recently read a book that had kobolds as small humanoids that liked milk and could find various metals in the earth. It was called "The Spirit Ring", it was pretty good. I go by the DnD descriptions out of habit from being a gamer.

I think of lots of monsters by the way they are described in games. I have seen Kobolds mostly as furry humanoids with dog like heads.

Yeah, that's how they were in most of the DnD games, I think actually right up until the newest (3rd) edition.

I just recently started playing D & D our first game was supposed to begin Saturday but didn't so I don't know the monsters from there too well. But in most of the video game RPG's I have played they looked that way.

Yeah, when I got the new books, I wasn't too happy about it. I eventually just stopped caring. Mostly I go by the DnD version of things for consistency.

The fun thing about the D & D books is they have influenced many moderen games. I want to get more books but the prices are being raised which sucks. I want the Ravenloft book which is about 30 as it is. I also need some of the books for special classes.

I got the core books off of E-Bay for 12$ a piece. I haven't bought any suppliments. We really hi-jacked this thread lol...

I have been meaning to look on ebay for books I am also into Shadowrun so I need those books too. Now for a question for anyone to answer. Do you have a favorite mythological creature? If so what is it? I am not sure what mine is there are so many cool ones. I actualy have to think about this one.

The class books for 3E as published by Wizards of the Coast are a rip-off. Do not buy them. Ravenloft is an excellent investment if you wish to purchase it. However, I don't know how long it's publisher will support it.

If you can get a group together you can pitch in for books and share them communally. That helps cut down costs.
