What I Love About Summer

I love that women are wearing skirts and shorts.
I love the peek of a breast as the sun shines through flimsy blouses.

I love no snow! I love that people are happier.

the smell of food cooking on a barbecue, homemade lemonade, iced tea, and block parties.

picnics in the park with fried chicken and watching the fireworks after the sun goes down.

watching children play and just be children: making sandcastles, leaping into the lake without a care in the world, having water fights. hearing them laugh with mouths that have been stained blue from shaved ice and snow cones.
